HAPPY EASTER from Guangzhou, China!

Today was another busy and fun day! It was a day of playtime, temper tantrums, shopping, eating, laughing, standing, making noises, kisses and hugs, walking, bath time, and much more. After a long day, we will keep the update short today and just let the pictures speak for themselves. We will catch everyone up more tomorrow!

“FIRSTS FOR THE DAY”
(some of these may or may not really be the first time Ainsley has done something, but right now they are definitely “firsts” with her new family)

• Ainsley celebrated her first Easter with her Daddy and grandmas
• Ainsley played tea by pretending to pour drink into a cup
• Ainsley went to the Guangzhou version of Wal-Mart (a place called Carrefour)
• Ainsley made many different sounds today, including clicking her tongue on the roof of her mouth and saying “ba ba” (Mandarin for Daddy)
• Ainsley started mimicking Daddy doing various things (this is dangerous!)

For those of you who are wondering what is going on at home with Shannon and Griffin in Pittsburgh, here is a short update:

UPDATE FROM HOME
One week down and one week to go until Mommy and Griffin get to meet Ainsley and see Daddy again! We are counting down the days. We spent this past week doing lots of fun things with Griffin's Great Aunt Kathy who was a huge help. Some of the highlights from the past week were Griffin losing his cord, surpassing his birth weight (up to 9.3 pounds), taking his first tub bath which he loved, going out to lunch (PF Changs and Mad Mex), and just in the past day or two he started cooing! It is amazing to see him change each day. I can't wait to see him and Ainsley together finally. We've also been preparing for Ainsley by getting her car seat installed and lowering her crib mattress so she can't escape - which we hear from Daddy that she tries very hard to do! We've enjoyed several video chats online with Daddy and Ainsley so we can see them and they can see us. Of course, it's not the same until they're home! Come home soon! – Shannon & Griffin
