This update is long overdue!
We've been home over 7 months with Gracie and the time flies
once you're not waiting for the process anymore. It goes way too
fast. We are loving life as a family of six. Since we've been
home Gracie has celebrated her first Thanksgiving, Christmas,
New Year, Birthday, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter,
Mother's Day, Memorial Day and now Father's Day. Our life has
been very busy and full of fun.
Gracie has gone from an infant, just barely crawling to a
toddler who runs with glee. She turned 1 on January 4th and took
her first steps shortly after. She really began walking the
first week of March and now she runs and giggles throughout the
house. She absolutely loves shoes, bows and clothes. It's eerie
how much like her mother she is. She has a laugh that is
infectious and a smile that will melt butter. She has a
wonderful personality and loves to play with her brothers and
her dogs.
Gracie has adjusted really well and bonded with us better than
we ever hoped. Our trip to China was great and when we got home
we were very careful to only let our family hold her. Mom & Dad
did all the feeding and caretaking while she was free to play
with her brothers. It has been incredible to see the
transformation from a little girl who was quite scared when we
got her to a little girl who is fully confident, knows her
family and that she belongs. She is now 32" tall and weighs 20
pounds. She is thriving and is very bright. She has a vocabulary
of about 25 words. She uses most of them often and is very clear
when she speaks. She loves music, playing outside and being read
to. She loves to color and play with her princess duplo blocks.
Chase, Dylan and Blake are wonderful big brothers. They play
with her and dote on her and are usually very patient. Believe
me, she tries their patience quite often! They are really good
to her. They let her hold a video game controller while they
play XBOX and she thinks she's playing... it's too cute!
We are loving life! Enjoy the pictures and I'll try to update
more regularly. |
