Our journey has begun!
Wednesday was a busy day. Rodney did last minute things at the
house and I handled last minute packing, etc. I got a pedicure
and had my nails done. I had lunch with Jolene, Emma and Jade.
Last night we had dinner at home with the boys, Rodney's parents
and the Bellingers. Linda brought a ladybug cake, similar to the
one at my baby shower. We had a great dinner and a good time. We
decided to stay up all night so we'd be tired and sleep. Keith
Bellinger brought us to the airport bright and early this
morning. We had to pay overweight fees for both of our checked
bags! We are tired and we slept most of the way to Newark. Our
flight to Newark was very smooth and we even landed a bit early.
We're waiting for our connection to Beijing now. We should board
that plane in a little less than an hour. The connection out of
here has been great because we haven't had to linger around the
airport for a long time.
We made it to Beijing effortlessly! The flights were great and
all of our luggage made it. We were picked up by our guide,
Cindy, and brought to the Plaza Hotel. After she got us checked
in we came up to the room to unload our stuff. We exchanged some
money and had a nice dinner at the hotel. We're off to bed now
because tomorrow we have an early morning. We'll visit Tiananmen
Square, The Forbidden City and the Great Wall.
I will add pictures tomorrow for both days. Today was pretty
uneventful considering... Rodney did take some shots out the
airplane window while we flew over the North Pole. |
