GOTCHA DAY!
We left our hotel at 8:30am to go to the airport. Our flight
was a bit delayed but we took
off for Nanchang at 11:35am. The flight was about 2 hours and it
was the longest two
hours of my life. We arrived at the JinFeng Hotel and had time
to check in, drop our bags
and leave. We were off to the Civil Affairs office to meet our
babies.
When we got there, the babies and nannies were already there. We
were all trying to look
and see which one was ours. We had to stay on the opposite side
of the room. In the
corner, was a nanny and a screaming baby...the only one crying.
Guess who it was? Yep,
Gracie! When the nanny turned around and said "Li Sui", I
proudly claimed the crying baby
as mine. She was dressed all in pink, in one of the outfits I
sent in her care package. She
cried hard, all the way through our Gotcha moment and most of
the time we were there.
On the bus ride back to the hotel she calmed down a little. We
got her back, changed her
diaper and took off two of the 3 layers she had on. We gave her
a bottle and she calmed
down. We had pizza for dinner in the play area with a family who
is adopting a nine year
old girl and Gracie went to sleep. She slept for about an hour
and then she was awake
again, but happy.
We played with her and got her first smile as well as some
giggles. The video clip of the
giggle is on DropShots as well as the rest of the pictures.
Gracie went to sleep around
10pm and slept until I woke her up the next morning.
