Sunday, November 5, 2006 Sorry for the delayed posting....we were so busy in China! Today we went to the Chen Family Temple and Guangdong Folk Art Museum. It was very interesting to see the temple where the family prays to the ancestors. The history behind all of it is very impressive. After that we went to the Six Banyan Tree temple which is an active Buddhist temple. It was very busy at the temple and we were able to see lots of people burning incense and bringing offerings. Our guide arranged for a baby blessing. When we finished at the temple we headed to the Jade store for some shopping. I am not a huge jade fan but I did buy one really nice piece for Gracie when she's older and an inexpensive jade rooster pendant for her. Once everyone was finished shopping...and it took a while, we headed back to the White Swan. We lunched at Lucy's with our new friends Cynthia, Jeff and Sara. We strolled around the island for some shopping. Gracie has been wonderful. She's got such a great personality.
