We are alive and well in China ! I’m sorry for the slow
posts but I never realized how busy we would be here. I will
never complain about anyone being slow with their updates again!
Today was a bittersweet day. Again, we started with breakfast
and then we went to buy a new suitcase…2 actually! We brought
home a bunch of loot and got Gracie down for a nap. Baba and
Gracie napped while I went out for another round of power
shopping for gifts, etc. I got back just in time to get Gracie
ready for the consulate appointment. We left at 3pm for our
appointment. All the way there, I kept saying I couldn’t believe
our time in China is over. It really is surreal. We arrived for
our appointment, sat and waited. A woman came to answer some
questions and the consulate swore in 56 families. We got our
coveted sealed immigration envelope and headed back to the WS.
Our guide, Cindy, gave all of us copies of the red couch
pictures as a gift. We went out for dinner with our new friends
Cynthia, Jeff and Sara and a little more shopping. Now we’re
packing getting ready to leave in the morning. I really can’t
believe we’re going home. I’m glad to go but I will miss China .
I hope to come back and bring Gracie and the boys. I have a new
respect for China and it’s people. It will always have a special
place in my heart. I want Gracie to know and be proud of her
heritage. I really think we Americans can learn a lot from the
Chinese people.
We are tired so we will add pictures when we get home. I’m about
to pack up the computer and we start our journey in the morning.
Boys, we’re coming home! We miss and love you very much.
Goodbye for the last time from China …for now,
