Well, it’s time for another update. We’ve been so busy for the last month! We had a wonderful Christmas with my dad visiting! Our friends, the Bellingers, joined us this year. My brother and sister in law came to visit on New Year’s Eve and we had a nice time. All in all, it was a nice holiday season. Things are starting to get back to normal now. We’re back to school work, martial arts, music lessons, band program and now baseball! Ugh!

Another month has gone by and we *still* don’t have any idea when we’ll get our referral. It’s very disappointing. Next week will mark 6 months since our dossier was logged in with China and we should be seeing Emma’s face now. Things change, God is in control and we have to deal with that…hard as it may be. We’re all ready for her, though. We have her room done, her clothes are ready, bottles and cups are in the cabinet, high chair is set up and we have the car seat and stroller. We just need her! Believe me, I will post as soon as I know something. In the mean time, we’re trying to stay busy and not focus on what we don’t have. We have a wonderful family and a full life so we’re making the best of the wait.

We’ve kicked off the history of China in our homeschool year. It’s interesting! We’ve decided to try to make a different Chinese meal each week during our 3-4 month study. I got this idea from Heather who is in my July DTC group. We’re modifying the idea a little. The boys will also be building a Great Wall model that they actually have to make the bricks for and then put them together with mortar. They’re looking forward to that.

Chase is in yet another band at the high school. How much music can one person do?! He loves it, though. The jazz band is playing at a resort next week. They’re actually getting paid to do it.

We do have an addition to our family, though not the one we really want. We have a new puppy, a golden retriever named Lucy Lu. She is a sweet puppy. She’s keeping us on our toes.
