September 30, 2005

Hi, there’s not much to tell right now.  Things are still moving along…slowly, it seems.  We’re finishing up Emma Grace’s room and getting things done around the house.  The boys are looking forward to our trip to Birmingham in November.  It seems the baby tea my aunt Linda and mom have been working on is growing a lot.  Linda is really working hard on it and I really appreciate it.  It’s a very nice thing for them to do for us and it seems it’s going to be quite a party!

I’m going to post some pictures of Chase’s band at the game last week.  The band is really good for a new school.  The football team leaves a bit to be desired, though.  This is a short update because there’s not much new to tell.  So, until next time…I’ll share another poem that has been going around the adoption email lists.

WHY DO I LOOK DIFFERENT, MOM?
by Debbie Bodie

"Why do I look different, Mom?"
Emma Grace will ask one day.
"How come I don't resemble
all the kids with whom I play?

My hair is inky black and straight,
my skin's a different hue,
So would you tell me, Mom,
why don't I look like you?"

"You're an Oriental flower,"
I'll tell my darling girl,
"Your skin and hair and eyes all come
from halfway 'round the world.

The sun of China warmed your skin
to that exquisite shade.
Your eyes are China's beauty marks,
your hair a silk cascade
the color of a midnight sky
unlighted by a star.

So don’t think you look different, dear,
you look like who you are."

Praise

Rodney’s dealership is finally moving to the new location.

Prayers

Pray that business will take off and is very successful.

Continue to pray for Emma Grace while she’s in China…that she’s being loved and cared for.

Pray that referrals continue on track each month and we get a beautiful picture of our daughter in January…and get to travel in February or March.
