We have a
change of cribs! Yes, that’s right…we have a new crib. I
found a lovely green crib at Babies R Us and it matched Emma
Grace’s dresser so we switched! It looks great in her room
and really makes the bedding stand out. The white one was
lovely but the green is beautiful!
That’s about all the news we have right now. Other than that
nothing on the baby front has changed. A friend of mine used
the words Adoption Land on her blog and I really like that so
I’ll steal her idea. There is nothing new in Adoption Land.
We’re all anxiously waiting for the next set of referrals to
arrive from China. Hopefully this week will bring some news
on that front. Even though I wish it was my turn, it will be
great to share in their experiences with them. There will be
beautiful pictures to look at, showers to attend and the
general excitement of them getting ready to travel. By the
time they travel, it should be time for our referral to
arrive! It’s amazing how much we all pull together and get
excited for each other. We’ve known each other a short time
but we share such a strong bond because of the journey we’re
taking together.
Let’s see what’s new with the boys...Chase got his class ring
this week. It’s amazing that he will graduate next year.
Blake is supposed to have a recital this week where (in the
words of Mr. Harris) he will be the headliner and will stop
the show. I hope “Wilma” doesn’t interfere with this. Dylan
is doing great with his weapon in Martial Arts. Blake is
doing well, too, but Dylan has a real talent for this. He
should, he’s been doing this kind of stuff with broomsticks
for years!
The new Infiniti dealership, Sawgrass Infiniti…the nation’s
largest Infiniti dealership, in case you’re in the market, is
up and running. Rodney is doing well and business is picking
up. Unfortunately this means he’s been working a few more
hours but hopefully when it really takes off they’ll get
things going smoothly and that will taper off a little.
Right now we are getting ready for Hurricane Wilma, which I
have to say is a total pain in the rear! We’re so sick of
hurricanes and this one is just plain stubborn. It is
supposed to come across our area tomorrow, but who really
knows? I think it’s a racquet to sell more canned chili,
tamales and fruit. Who really buys this stuff on a normal
basis? I still refuse to buy Spam! I don’t think even a
hurricane could force me to cook that stuff!
I do have some concerns on the Avian Flu. Let’s all pray that
it doesn’t spread anymore. Definitely not human to human,
China has said they will close the country if it does. This
would affect the adoption process as a whole. Also, let’s
pray that it can be stopped so no more people get it and die.
It’s a sad, scary thing.
We celebrated another LID (log in date) anniversary this
week. As of October 20th, our dossier has been
logged in with the China Center for Adoption Affairs for three
months! That’s 90 days! The average wait right now is 195
days, of course this could change at any time…but we’re about
half way to our referral and seeing our precious Emma Grace
for the first time. I honestly can’t imagine what it will
feel like the day I get that phone call and email from Great
Wall. Then, the next day to wait for the FedEx guy to bring
our package…the poor FedEx guy…he won’t know what is in store
for him when he makes this delivery!
I can’t wait until we see her face. I have dreams about Emma
Grace sometimes…I’ll be in China and its Gotcha day. I can
see everything, the room, the people and it’s just like a
movie. They hand her to us and we cry and hold and kiss her.
It’s odd, in every dream, I can’t see her face. That’s what
I want…just to see my daughter’s face and to have a picture to
put with all the love in my heart. I never would have thought
I could feel so attached to a little one across the world but
she has my heart. Actually she has her mommy and daddy’s
heart already and forever. Man, does she already have three
overprotective brothers, too!
Praise
Rodney’s dealership is finally moving to the new location.
Prayers
Pray that business will take off and is very successful.
Continue to
pray for Emma Grace while she’s in China…that she’s being
loved and cared for.
Pray that
referrals continue on track each month and we get a beautiful
picture of our daughter in January…and get to travel in
February or March.
