Comments: Denise- Love seeing the changes in Maggie since you brought her home! It's amazing what faith and love can make happen. Thank you so much for sharing your journey- I am so grateful to have been able to be a part of it. Hugs to everyone- Carolyn
Comments: Denise, I have followed your adoption story through this website, as well as, through your blog for quite awhile. It's become one of my favorites! Maggie is absolutely darling! Two weeks ago today, we accepted our referral for a sweet, little girl with a repaired heart condition. Our daughter is 2 1/2 years old. We are waiting for LOA now and can't wait to bring her home! Blessings to your family, Kim http://www.myadoptionwebsite.com/simplysophie
Comments: Jeff & Denise I am so happy for your new addition. It brings tears to my eyes every time I visit the website for an update. I can hear the joy in Jeff's voice every time I talk to him when he calls in to the Help Desk @ VA Farm bureau. Denise you will enjoy having a little girl in your life. Not to take anything away from the boys, but there is always a special bond between a mother and her daughter to share life experiences with. May God Bless you and your family and I look forward to your monthly updates.
Comments: Denise & Jeff, I have enjoyed following your journey and what a beautiful little girl. She is so blessed to be a part of your family and I know she will be loved by all at MBC. There's nothing better than to be raised by a good, loving Christian family. She will see and experience God's love first hand. What a blessing.
Comments: What a wonderful story! Thank you for sharing your amazing journey. We are a lot like your family...a family of boys. We have recently started our adoption of a little girl from Russia. Thank you so much for inspiring others to adopt. I wish you all good fortune. God Bless You!
Comments: Denise, Home at last. Where she has wanted to be for the past 2 years. Seeing all the pictures of the airport brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy for you. Jennifer
Comments: Denise, I love your "we're home" post. It is beautiful. Love, Kim
Comments: Welcome home!!! I have enjoyed following you so much on your journey to Maggie Mei! She is beautiful! We leave in 17 days... It's hard to believe it's almost time. Congratulations! Lyn Briscoe (Williamsburg)
Comments: Denise, Wow, I finally sat down and read your entire journey today. I have been thinking about you for the past two weeks. Maggie is so cute. I was wondering what happened to Baby Wise? She is going to have so many people catering to her. Soon she'll be climbing out the windows and cutting her hair. It is good to have a girl with a little spirit. I laughed when I saw her toenails. That is so you. YOU needed this girl. I also loved the reoccurring shopping theme. It is a blessing a curse to have a girl who loves to shop. Luckily you will be far enough from the stores that you won't be able to do as much damage. I can't wait to meet Maggie. We'll be up in June. Sarah
Comments: Best of luck to you and your family in this new stage of your life. Your cousin, Barbara
Comments: Wow, what an incredible journey you all have been on! Finally, to be on American soil and Maggie Mae officially becoming a US citizen. That is so wonderful. I am so excited for you Maggie Mae, you have so much to look forward to. How lucky to have four big brothers!!! Your mommy and daddy have so much love to share with you. Welcome home!
Comments: Dear Maggie Mae, Miss Denise and Miss Kristy, I'm glad you're home and I hope you have a good day! Elizabeth (mommy says (Elizabeth was standing at my elbow today saying www dot myadoptionwebsitedot com slash maggie mae
Comments: Maggie- ahhh- you should be landing right about now- it's 9:30 and a long flight later. You have been prayed for, sweet girl, and as you meet some of your family for the first time, we pray that it would be as sweet for you as it will be for them. I know how glad they are to have you home finally, I close my eyes and can see that moment in my mind! May you feel blessed, comforted and swaddled in your family's love- this is just the beginning! And as much as they love you, it is only a glimpse of how our Heavenly Father loves you. Denise- you made it-!! What a long trip! Your posts were awesome, we hung on every word and prayed specifically for your needs along the way! I can't believe she's home... what a blessing to follow you all- I can't wait to meet her, but for now, get some rest and be loved on by your family!
Comments: I have followed your journey even though I do not know you. I have been amazingly touched by how the Lord have used you to tranform another's life. I have laughed and cried many times during your journey. Your daughter is beautiful. I have long prayed to adopt and while my husband and I were travelling in Mexico we accessed your website to see your progress. My husband's heart was tranformed by your story and we are now in the process of starting an adoption. Your journey has a far reaching impact. Thank you for allowing it to be public. Your lives have made a difference in those whose came across you by chance. Thank you!!! God's blessing to all of you!!
Comments: PRAISE THE LORD Denise, I am a little late checking in this morning. Didn't get to yesterday so had some catching up to do. When I got up this morning at 6 a.m., the first think I did was to light my candle for Maggie. Tommy asked what i was doing and I told him Maggie was on the way. I explained the significance of the candles, but he thinks it's just an excuse for me to light all the candles in the house. Well, it probably is, but since I have so many and one is the big three-wick which needs to burn several hours to burn correctly, I figured this was a great time to light -- on yes, and it just so happens to be pink (ironic, huh). To Miss Maggie Mae, welcome home to Louisa County. You are too young to understand and realize the impact your coming has had on so many people. We have found a bond without knowing each other -- "We are one in the bond of love" as the chorus says. I know you are scared, frightened, confused and don't understand what is happening, but you will soon realize that there are five men waiting for you at home to pamper, spoil, love and protect you. I pity the boys who try to pass through that wall of protection, just like God's protection of us. You are truly a blessing to so many of us and the courage, strength and determination your family has had through this process to bring you home has been inspiring. Someday, you will realize how truly blessed you have been, we already know it because we know your family. I pray that you have a safe and uneventful trip and that you learn to love flying -- it's a great thing and opens many doors to the world. As we patiently wait for you to be ready to get to know all of us in your extended family, know that you are already loved by so many and that you will never be alone again. God has claimed us as his own, just like your mom and dad have claimed you. Irene
Comments: Praise God, the candles are lit. Love you Lucy
Comments: Hi Denise, WOOHOO - it is here! I cannot wait to see those precious pictures and to have you home safe and sound with your family. Blessings for a wonderful trip. We will be praying! "The Lord is good, His love is eternal; His faithfulness endures through all generations." Psalm 100:5
Comments: Hi, I know we don't know each other, but I have been following your Journey to Maggie Mae. I learned of you through Jennifer Mitchell's site. She is a co-worker of mine. I must say, after reading your entry tonight, I am in tears. I am so proud of the families that have changed the lives of these precious children. You have a beautiful daughter and only Heaven knows the true reward that awaits you. The Bible says, ...for when you've done it unto the least of these, my little ones, you've done it unto me." To God be all the Glory, Rachel
Comments: Yeahhhh!! Can't wait to see those boys lovin' on Miss Maggie Mae back in the good 'ole USA!! I'm praying for safe travels for you, Kristy, and Maggie! Blessings, Jenn
Comments: "Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice." I rejoice with you in the Lord today, Denise as you travel this long distance to bring your precious daughter home to be united with her daddy and brothers. I have tears in my eyes as I imagine the first time that they see each other and thinking of this vast distance physical and emotional that God has brought your family for such a time as the day when you will all be together as a family. What a glorious reunion it will be. Thank you for sharing your journey with us...giving us a window into your heart and reminding me of the awesome miracle so many of us have had in adopting these beautiful children. Praying for safe and pleasant travels back home and for a sweet, sweet reunion with your family.

(Isaiah 25:1)

I have been following their journey also, as he is from the same orphanage as my daughter. Maggie is beautiful and is so blessed to have this new family. And I love your red couch picture... I think it a more authentic experience...at least it was for us! Blessings and safe travels.
Comments: We anxiously await your arrival. John and I thank you and Jeff for allowing us to be a part of your family. Thanks to your parents for sharing their grandchildren with us. Comments: Welcome Home Maggie and Denise! Like I said on Sharon's blog, I am going to miss my daily reading of your blogs! It has truely been my ritual every morning and the highlight to my day! When you get home, get some rest, that jetlag thing stinks! After you are rested I want to see some pictures of Maggie with her dad and brothers! She is so cute!
Comments: To say that I cannot wait until tomorrow night is such an understatement. I can think of little else. Seriously, I don't think I have been this excited since I was meeting Kate at the airport. I cannot wait to see the boys and Jeff with Maggie! There was no need to thank me----I thank YOU! I feel so blessed to have been able to watch you journey. I cannot wait to see Kate and Maggie together too! Comments: YEA!!!!! Well done Ladies!!! You have waited, endured, and persevered, and you have done it all with such grace! What a difference 10 days of love makes in a child! I leave you with one of my favorite poems for beautiful Maggie Mae: "The flower that blooms in adversity, is the most rare and beautiful of all!" ~Mulan You couldn't be more right Denise, God picked this precious girl for you! Because you listened to His call, you have been so blessed! I have loved following your journey, and I look forward to pictures of you at the airport and home! Comments: I just wanted to say congratulations to you and your family. I think it's wonderful that you are able to help a child in need. Maggie is very lucky to have a family like yours waiting for her! She is a girly girl and I'm sure she is loving every minute of it! Again congratulations!

Saw Dr. Westfield today and she told me she has been following your blog. Can't wait to see you all home safe and sound. Praying for a smooth travel day for you on Friday. Love Mom
Comments: Denise, I know that you are counting the days until you are home and I have prayed that God will fill your time with lots of fun activities to pass these last few days in China. Try to soak up each and every moment. I am in awe of how Maggie seems to have blossomed since the day you received her. Your love has given her the freedom to express the beautiful little girl God created her to be, night owl and all. I can just imagine the fun that the two of you are having and I will continue to pray that your bond continue to strengthen. I love all the bows and the her "piggies" look terrific after the pedicures. Thinking and praying for you, Kristy and Maggie as well as for your boys back at home. Enjoy your final days in China.

Comments: The tshirt does say it all. Well worth the wait! Congrats!
Comments: Maggie, We just wanted you to know that we are so glad to see you being pampered by your Mommy & Miss Kristy! It looks like your girls trip is so much fun! The first of many we think! Soon you will be going out to lunch, and visiting the "spa" here in the United States. We really hope we have the chance to meet you in person sometime. Good thing you like the camera, because if your Mom is like mine, you are going to be behind that lens a lot! You are so pretty in all of your pictures! We love the one of you in the park!! I hope you have a great trip home. It gets a little long, but just like waiting for your Mommy to come and get you, it will be worth it. Have fun on your last day in China! You have so much to look forward to! Love, Ruby Mei & Diana too
Comments: Wow you guys are doing great. I travelled with my girlfriend in 2005 to bring my daughter home and we pretty much had an agreement that I would be the only one to have physical contact to avoid any bonding issues. This worked out well for us but was an exhausting 2 weeks. Its a hard call but she knows you are mom and the bonding will continue well after you get home so just enjoy your time now! Best wishes to you all! (from not too far away in Thailand, but moving soon to Shanghai!!))
Comments: Denise, You're almost there! She looks great. I can't believe you have carried her all over China, though! I'd better start working out now. Have fun these last few days, and hurry home!
Comments: We have been following your journal every day and are so happy for you that you finally have your daughter in your arms...she is so adorable, and we can't wait to meet her in person. Wishing you all a safe and 'uneventful' flight home.
Comments: Good morning. The picture of Maggie in the park is breath taking. It has been rainy here, but it is supposed to be beautiful on Friday for the field trip to Maymont. I know you are anxious to get home and you are now on the down hill slide. We all miss you so much, but are so delighted your journey has gone so well. Blessings from all of us.
Comments: LOVE the pedicure! She is a girly girl! Did she actually sit still? I hope you are enjoying these last few days. I know you are anxious to come home but what a gift you have had to spend this focused time with Maggie without the distractions of driving everyone everywhere, laundry, cooking, cleaning etc. I am counting the days until Friday. I am charging the camera battery and clearing my memory card. So exciting!! Love, Kim
Comments: The Buckleys are praying for you all and anxiously await your arrival home. We love Maggie already and can't wait to meet her face to face. We feel like we know her already. Have so enjoyed the pictures and reading of your adventures in China. We feel blessed just reading about it. No child could ever be loved and wanted more, not only by her family receiving her, but by the church family here. Much Love to all.
Comments: Denise & Maggie The girls are so excited and are awaiting to light the candle to pray for your safe return. We have all really missed you and cant wait to meet the newest member of your family. The photos are fantastic and I await with holding breath each day to see the news you send of the journey. Please know we are so grateful that you and Jeff are part of our family and appreciate all thoughts, prayers and support you share to the kids and myself. Blessings--Chris, Nicholas, Carmen & Kelly Ps. In all the rush I am still looking for that fabric!
Comments: hi mom I am so excited you are coming back in three days. tell maggie that I said hi. I love you . xoxoxoxo gabe
Comments: Hi Denise! Letting you know that I have continued to check in with you everyday. You totally ROCK with keeping us updated!! I love all the pictures too! Thank you for doing this! I hope I'm half as good as you when it's my turn. You continue to be in my prayers! Blessings, Jenn
Comments: I love the idea of putting the photos in her room. The view from the park is beautiful. I can't wait to see the pictures of your boys seeing her for the first time. I wish I could be there! Hang in there, you're almost home!!! Of couse, Maggie is precious, as usual. jennifer
Comments: Hi Gals, You all are doing such a wonderful job. Kristy--I love what you wrote in the guest book. You will always have a very special bond with Maggie. It is like being in the delivery room only more so! All I can think about this week is seeing you all step off that plane and seeing the look on Jeff's face and seeing the boys with their sister. I know it will be the most beautiful sight! Hang in there---you are almost home. The photos of the park are great! How cute that Maggie likes oreos! Love, Kim
Comments: Maggie, you are my type of girl. When I saw chocolate on your face I knew all was well. The boys will show you where Lucy hides Hugs and Kisses to you, John and Lucy (your adopted next door grandparents) P.S. Denise and Jeff we will need a new document with a new photo
Comments: I was afraid of that. I have been reading about this from other Mom's. I was also thinking about this since my little Sophie and your Maggie are around the same age and from the same Orphanage. As far as I know Sophie has not been in foster care??? Thanks for the diaper idea as a good option. I can tell that you are such a good Mom and I am sure that Maggie is appreciating your patience, love and kindness while she is using the toilet. Hang in there. Go check out Jennifer's Place next to the White Swan. (I think that was the name.) Anyways, they have an artist there that can paint Maggies photo in the inside of a small perfume bottle! Very cool and amazing. We got one of Simone and I....Simone loves it and talks about it more now that she is older. You could also have them put your gotcha date on the back side. Just an idea. Take care, Michele
Comments: You don't know me but my name is Donna and I adopted Aleina in September of 08. She is 3 years old and reading about your little Maggie reminds me of our trip. I too am the mother of boys and felt a yearning for a daughter. I can relate to your experiences well. I teach 3rd grade so I can relate in the career field too. Congratulations to you and your family. She is truly a gift from God and when the thousandth person tells you how lucky she is to have you for parents, I'm sure you will respond that you are the lucky ones. That is how we feel. Aleina's brothers adore her and she is doing very well. We had some major issues when we first came home but all is well now and it has only been 7 months. I wanted to encourage you in the bathing area. When I first bathed Aleina, I compared it to giving a cat a bath. Our guide explained that they don't typically use tear free shampoo and once Aleina realized that it wouldn't burn her eyes, she did much better. Hang in there. Soon she will be playing and swimming in the tub. Good luck to you and your family. When you get home, check out our site. We have a lot in common. God Bless! Donna Durham http://www.myadoptionwebsite.com/ouraleina
Comments: I wanted to sign in while still here in China with you two. It has been unbelievable and I needed to let you and Jeff know how grateful I am to you for sharing in this time. I expected to be here just for support if you needed it but I feel I have gotten the most out of it. Maggie is absolutely precious. The photos don't do justice to her or our experiences here. This has meant to much to me. She is a very blessed little girl to be allowed to grow in a beautiful loving family as yours. If she ever needs reminding I will be first in line to let her know. She will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks to all your family and friends who have helped us feel closer to home with the emails and prayers. I appreciate them so much! Much Love, Kristy
Comments: Hey there Denise, I look forward to visiting your site everyday and seeing the updated pictures that you post. I keep going back to the beginning, when you first met Maggie and scroll through to the most current pics, It is evident that you're making progress with this little girl. What a true blessing you are in her life - I can only imagine the homecoming celebration. What a difference you've already made in her life, not to mention all of the detail that you have documented that will surely warm her heart when she's older. I know Jeff and the boys are eager for you and Maggie to be home. Wishing you home, safe and sound, Denise Reynolds
Comments: Denise, I can't tell you how happy I was to click on your site tonight. What an incredible transformation. I am amazed at how fast Maggie "fits" with you. It is so obvious from the outside looking in that you belong together. Maggie is beaming, pure Joy. I will continue to keep you and yours in my prayers
Comments: Four more days I cant belive it. we all miss you. Tell Maggie I said hi. Maggie looks so cute on the blog! I wish I was there with her right now, and I could have been there because the SOL's aren't until May
Comments: Denise, We've been enjoying reading about your trip. Seems amazing and Abby & Emma have enjoyed keeping up with it also. They keep asking when they get to meet Maggie....let us know when you get home when you're ready for a visit! Safe travels. Love, JoAnne
Comments: Hi Girls!!!! Just checking in on your wonderful update and photos! Maggie is just blossoming before your eyes!! I talked to Kim today, and she is so excited to see you very soon! I will be praying for an un-eventful trip home for all three of you and your luggage!!!! What a blessing to see Maggie playing with Hudson and his little pal. They are precious! I hope you are all sleeping peacefully, and getting ready for Tuesday's adventures! Blessings, Diana
Comments: Hi Denise! Maggie looks sooo good! She is beautiful and I'm glad to hear she is adjusting more and more every day! Lia came to us with the same sores you describe on Maggie. She also had some sort of bug bite on her thighs and and tummy area. We thought they were scars but they have faded away. I'm sure Maggies will too. I'm wondering if that is why she will not sit in a high chair. Lia refuses to sit in one also. Won't be long and you'll be heading back to the states to unite as a whole family! What a day that will be! Enjoy the rest of your time in China!
Comments: Maggie really seems to be bonding to you. I'm so glad for that because I know that was one of your chief concerns. Saw her playing with Hudson on his blog. So cute!!! I bet being around the other children has helped too. Miss you and can't wait until Friday. Love to all, Mom
Comments: Good morning to you all! Denise, watching Maggie transform from scared little girl to a little girl that is learning the comfort and security of Mommy's arms, bring me back to our journey with Linzhi Rose. I get misty eyed just reading your updates because it's so familiar. I can't wait to see her with daddy too! Enjoy the rest of your time in China! We're praying for you all! Many Blessings, Amy Corzine
Comments: Hi Denise, Kristy, and Maggie...Denise, though we have never met (I am Kristy's cousin), I feel so close to you and your family after reading through this journal. I am praying for you all and am so thrilled for your family. Your precious daughter is such a blessing and I hope to meet her in person one day. Hugs and kisses to Maggie.
Comments: I love the picture of the school children. They are so cute. I will not like the bargining part of the shopping there. I'm glad Richard will be with me. He'll be great at it. Get some good stuff! Richard keeps commenting on how beautiful Maggie is. That is very unusual for him, and I love it. He is right. She is beautiful. I am so sorry about the marks. That is very upsetting. I read the other comment about her baby being tied in the bed, as well. It breaks my heart. Be safe, and have a great time. I am praying for you all.
Comments: Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey with all of us. EVery morning with my cup of tea I read about your previous day and I share it with my family. I am so glad everything is going well. Enjoy the shopping while you can! Ann-Marie
Comments: Denise, Hi Sweetie! I have been out of town and what a treat it was for me to return and check in with you ladies and see your gorgeous Maggie.(of course you and Kristy are gorgeous too) I thought of you so often during my trip out of town and enjoyed praying for the Lord to continue to draw Maggie into your heart and the opening of hers to you. God is so good! I know that your husband and boys are just going to delight in this precious little girl and I ask once again that the Lord prepare Maggie to receive their love right away. Praying also that the Lord continues to heal her hurts and give her a great security in knowing that you will never leave her. I wish for you another great day of shopping. I know that you and Kristy are tired and so ready to come home so I will pray that God will strengthen you and fill your days with fun things to do to pass the time. Not sure what your plans are but we were treated to a beautiful botanical garden in Guangzhou by our guide. It was beautiful and colorful and Emily loved it. Just thought I would mention it in case you are looking for something to do. Again, thanks for sharing your journey with us. How my heart has been blessed by the reading your posts and looking at your pics and being reminded of that sweet time in my life of my first 2 weeks with Emily.
Comments: Denise, I love reading your updates. I am so glad you are on the final leg of your trip. Maggie is so adorable. Do some good shopping!
Comments: To my dear friend Denise, Every time I read how many days you have left until you come home, I get tears in my eyes! I know how much you want to be home to introduce your new daughter to her family. I want you to know how many of my friends (that don't know you) are following your blog and telling me: "I can't believe how amazing your friend is... or I'm so touched by her story and I'm checking it every day!") You are an inspiration to all. I talked to Karen & Jackie and we want to plan a "Welcome Home Maggie Mae" party at my house this summer. Once you get settled, we'll get a date on the calendar. I miss you! Alison
Comments: So good to wake up this morning and find out all went well yesterday. Love the photo with Maggie and Hudson. I have been following him along, he is a cutie. Your mom and I are counting the days, we want to have a hot tub party and just let you do all the talking. Love the sunglasses, a movie star on our hands. See you real soon !!!!! All is well next door. Hugs to all, Lucy
Comments: Hi Denise, I love checking your blog everyday to hear the latest and see more pictures of your beautiful princess. My heart broke about the potty story. Having just potty trained my little Natalie I just can't even imagine, but my prayers are with you and I know God will continue to poor His love through you to her. I am praying for yours and Kristy's continued stamina and coverage during the last bit of your trip. Lots of hugs to you girls, God Bless the rest of your time there and safe travels home! Lots of Hugs and Blessings, Becky and Crew
Comments: Hi Denise, Oh she is so sweet. We are so happy you have arrived in Guangzhou - last leg of the trip and you can come home with your precious girl. The potty reference broke my heart and though I have no words of wisdom, I do know that mommy intution is usually pretty sound, so you will know what your baby needs. We love following and hang on for each entry. We pray for you each day and are hoping the Lord is providing for every step of the journey. Love, Heather
Comments: Our daughter came home in Feb of 2007. she also was tied to the potty. Please go to the walmart or where ever your guide can get oen for you and buy her a small childs potty that sits on the floor. then she can use it while you go and you can give her candy too. I believe this really helped our little one who was 2 1/2 when she was adopted. I totally know how you feel about the "marks" I was not too happy to know our daughter was also tied in bed at night. thank God she is now with you! Blessings Dawn In Oregon mom to Carissa Hope YuFeng
Comments: Regarding flying: you already know this, but reminders never hurt. Takeoff is OK but landing is when your ears equalize (or not). Babies and older children who have a language gap can't tell you theirs ears hurt, and you can't tell them how to equalize. Solution? Save some hard candies, gum or safest is lolipops for descent. Swallowing regularly helps to keep the pressure equal across the eardrums. God bless! Kelly
Comments: Denise, I have been joyously following your amazing story. Maggie is beautiful! My DD#2 is from Chengdu and I was given the full "grand scale" tour. I am sorry to hear about the straps on Maggie's legs but I can assure you that it is not a common practice at the SWI in Chengdu where Mia spent 13 months living there. Therefore, I can only assume that since they are already scars and not new sores, the strapping must have come from fostering. Good luck. Doreen
Comments: Hi Denise, I've been following your daily reports. What an experience! Can't wait to see Maggie Mae in person. Hope your trip home is a good one. Everyone in Virginia will be anxiously awaiting your return. Bless the Feagans family. Wait til Maggie meets the boys. All of her fears will disappear. love Gail McFadden
Comments: It was so good to see your smiling faces when I came home from church. Everyone at church of course was asking questions. My statement is, they are fine and Maggie is beautiful!! I went on the Loving Lily blog, she had a photo with the red sofa and all the children, it was a breath taking photo. I hope you will be doing that as well. My heart sobs at someone strapping her on the potty, I know you will love her through this and she will be fine. Shirley Mitchell brought lunch for the boys today, she sang this morning and it was awesome as usual. All is well here, just a few more days. Did I mention Jeff is writing thank you's for the food people are bringing? Hugs to all Lucy
Comments: Hey Miss Denise! I saw the pictures, they are GORGEOUS!!! She is such a cute little girl, I can't wait to meet her. She has the most glamorous little smile. I hope the rest of your trip is fun! I'll stay tuned in every day... Lovingly, Cheyenne
Comments: Denise, I love following your journey. I haven't posted yet because Audrey is taking up a lot of my time, in a good way! I can't seem to put her down! Ha. I am so glad your trip is going good and you made it to the White Swan! I know all I wanted to do a couple of weeks ago is to get out of Chengdu! Miss Maggie so so beautiful and I know your boys will be wild over her! If you haven't tried the little ice cream shoppe down from the White Swan, go get some coconut in a cup or cone, it's is great! Audrey loved it and we usually got it everynight before we went in for the evening. I have looked for it here in the states, but just can't find it! Sandy
Comments: Potty story broke my heart. May also explain why she doesn't want to use a high chair. Sent you a message on your other site. Love you and KNOW you will do what's best for Maggie. Love Mom
Comments: Denise, Glad everything is going well. Can't wait to see you home! Miss Maggie Mae is so adorable. I can't wait to see what she thinks about all those boys!
Comments: Hi Denise, I am having a little trouble with Chance and the potty. Looked up Dr. Green (the Expert) ?. Had a couple of questions since it has been 21 years since last potty trained a little boy. One thing He says is to never leave a child on the potty for more than five (5) minutes at a time. You probably already knew this, but I had forgotten all the ways of potty training a child. I am sorry for her sad times, I know it breaks your heart each time it happens, but with your love and the family's those times will become less and less. Take care of yourself and Maggie. Have a safe trip home. Carolyn
Comments: Hi girls, I love the story and photos of the the school children! That is so cute and a wonderful memory. I am glad that Maggie is doing so well. I must tell you that Kate had those marks too. it was so sad and scary for us because we had NO idea what they were. We thought they were burn marks. And she was in foster care every single day and only 10 months old. I will tell you that they have gone away (and we never thought they would). We thought they were permanent scars. I have been told that it is not just for toileting but sometimes they are strapped to chairs (like we would use a bouncy seat or highchair) for safety and so adults can get stuff done. I would stick with the toilet since she knows what to do but be loving and comforting during that time and then if she resists completely ---go to diapers. My guess is that she will work through this one quickly. I cannot wait for you to come home. kim
Comments: Glad your flight went well. Everytime I see her I am amazed at how beautiful she is. Can't wait to get her in my arms!!!! Looking forward to Friday and seeing you and Maggie. Love to you three, Mom PS Kristy looks like a seasoned traveler!!!!!
Comments: Hi girls, You look like world class travelers to me there! I don't know what made me pop over here (I wasn't expecting a post) but was very pleasantly surprised to see one. You all look like things are going well. I know you are looking forward to coming home. We are looking forward to seeing you soon too. Love, Kim
Comments: Kristy, are you sure you've never flown before?! You look pretty relaxed on that plane ride!
Comments: Good to hear from you and know, Maggie's first flight went well. The photo of Kristy sleeping in flight is amazing, she looks like a world traveler. Your husband, Denise and your baba, Maggie amazes me. He is actually writing thank you notes. God has blessed you girls with some great guys. Love to all, Lucy Words to a song are in my head, in the morning when I rise give me Jesus.
Comments: I love hearing about Maggie Mae and you guys every day! I sent you an email in response to your question - hope you can get it. The ear picking is priceless! LOL I'll be praying for gorgeous Maggie Mae - love that smile!
Comments: Mitch says he's sorry you're jealous he got to use the hot tub first but we're going in again later so we can see what it looks like with the light on. Jeff was just here with the other boys who wanted to junp in too. (Nate put his head in.} He was taking them home to bed=== they were fishing in the pond. Gabe has plans to go in tomorrow night! Maggie is pottie trained----- YEAH Love to you 3 girls, Mom
Comments: I am following your journey as I do so many, hoping in 2-3 years I can start my own journey, but I wanted to comment on your daughter, she is just beautiful. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed trip.
Comments: Denise, A quick note to let you know Nate was such a polite, good boy today. He had millions of questions and I attempted to answer each and every one of them. I told him "yes" I am smarter than his dad, "yes" I am older than his dad, "yes" I am his dad's mother, etc. Mitch very much wanted to experience the hot tub at your mom's so he called to make sure he could visit and jump in. Took two bathing suits with him. Garrett went fishing and Gabe/Nate kept me company. I met the rainbow vacumn this afternoon. I had Jeff set it up for me so I could dust/clean the house. He has done a fabulous job of keeping things neat and tidy. All are excited about meeting Maggie Mae in person. She looks as though she favors the camera and the camera favors her! Modeling doesn't seem to be a problem at all. You and Kristy continue to enjoy your Chinese experience and the bonding with Maggie. We are sending good thoughts and prayers your way for a safe return to the States. Sondra
Comments: I continue to be amazed at the whole experience. I am so glad you are able to spend time learning about Maggie's culture. I so enjoy catching up daily and seeing the new pictures. She is incredibly beautiful! Her smile melts my heart every time Blessings -- Kathy and Mark
Comments: Hi everybody. Its me again, from Rochester, NY. Loooove the updates and your daughter is GORGEOUS!!!! I just want to jump through the computer and cuddle her up. What a precious baby that God has given you...you're very lucky to be so blessed. I feel like I know all of you and I keep telling my friend Kathy...I need to meet them! Kathy is now the grandmother to Jael (ourjourneytojael.com) and we are loving every minute of her being in America (they have been home for 1 week). Love, hugs and kisses to all. (I'm really not a stalker...I am just so in love with all of the stories.)
Comments: Hi Denise, Love the daily does of Miss Maggie Mae and her Momma! Poor thing on the carousel. Was it motion sickness? If it is, I don't know if I can be of any help but both my guys get terribly motion sick in the car and sometimes on planes. What works for us better than anything else (and we've tried benadryl, covering the windows, ginger ale, ginger snaps, etc.) is to have them eating all the time. It seems that if their tummies stay full and just that sensation of eating helps. I don't know why. Hope she has fun on her plane ride! Have fun shopping!!!
Comments: Hello Denise, Your daughter is beautiful. I'm so happy for you and the boys to have this special angel as part of your family now. I've really enjoyed reading your daily blog. May the remainder of your trip be wonderful. Love, Amy
Comments: Loved the Maggie Mae fashion show. Wait until she sees her closet!!!!!!! Hope your travel day went well. I think Jeff had the night off last night. It rained all day so I don't think he had to take any of the boys to practices. LOVE the hot tub!!!! We'll get Maggie used to it when she gets home. We'll have to invite Kristy over and have a girls' tub night. Well maybe some girls and some old gals. HA!HA! Love you, Mom
Comments: Denise, Oh my gosh!!! Maggie is a DOLL! I think pink is the new color at the Feagans! I love reading about her and your and Kristy's adventures in China. What a fortunate little girl she is - God has used you and your family to change her life forever. He is so good! Kristy, I'm glad the first time you traveled by plane wasn't boring!! I think you two had so many "adventures" getting there that your trip home will be smooth sailing. I'll be praying for that and especially for Maggie during the trip. Love, Cherie and family
Comments: Dear Jeff, Denise and four fellas,
Could anyone ever imagine that in such a far away place God would create such a precious child with such a beautiful face? And He would keep her safe and sound preparing all the while to bless your family half a world away with one perfect child's perfect smile. So many of us have waited and yearned for that glorious perfect day when into your arms a child He placed and He called her Maggie Mae. God is good - all the time. Maggie - we cannot wait to meet you! Love, Mike ("where can I get a pink basketball?") and Linda
Comments: Denise, I just love catching up on your trip. You say that your sweet Maggie takes your breath away and I can assure you, she steals mine as well. She is very regal and looks beautiful in anything, but your purchases from the silk factory are so pretty!! It looks like bonding is going so well, truly amazing. Praise God! Praying you are all well and that Maggie's cough gets better each day. Love, Heather
Comments: I've been following along and thought I'd post. First, she's beautiful!! Love reading your stories of China, it brings back so many memories. Our daugther came home Feb.07 and had just turned 2 while we were in China. She also wanted to be held all the time and still does. It can be exhausting, but it's also good for attaching. Our Hannah hated the tub until we purchased a small blow up baby tub. Then we had her sit in it and play with it before we actually put it in the tub, she loved it. We also showered with her, holding her the whole time. This also worked well. It took awhile, but now she loves the tub. Be prepared for the flight home, Hannah sat on me all the way home. She wanted nothing to do with her sit. Also, you may have already heard this from others but she hated the car seat, and I mean HATED. When we were finally home we waited a couple days and then would put her in it for very short trips, like around the block. We also played childrens CD's and sang along, this helped too. Hope this helps. You'll be home soon! Enjoy your time in China, keep your sense of humor!
Comments: I have some close friends who adopted a precious little girl from China, so I love reading these blogs. I just have to say that your little girl is absolutely gorgeous!!! She has the most beautiful smile! Hope you are having fun in China. God Bless You! Michelle A.
Comments: It was so good to see you last night via web-cam. It made it so real for me. Thank you for sharing your family time with me. Mitchell kept saying,"Tell Maggie we are praying for her". You know he prays for her in his Sunday School class and in Boomwhackers (for those wondering, this is our children; choir) all the time. Maggie, You are so beautiful, we anxiously await your arrival home. There is so much love here for you, your family, your church family and your neighborhood. You are the talk of the community. It is wonderful to live in a small community with so many kind and loving people. Hugs and Kisses Lucy
Comments: Hi Denise, You have the GLOW of a New Mommy and it looks good on you. You show Gods Glory and I know those you meet know you have something special. Gods grace is pouring over to others in your path. Praise God. Maggie Mae is blessing us all with her smile as well as yours. Her silk gowns are beautiful. While you are out and about, if I could ask you to pick up a half a yard of their fabric, of any kind I would be so grateful. Be safe and know you are loved by all. Jan & Chuck
Comments: HELLO DENISE, MAGGIE MAE IS ABSOLUTLY GORGEOUS. AND SHE LOOKS SO HEALTHY. I CAN TELL THAT YOU HAVE JUST FALLEN COMPLETLY IN LOVE WITH HER. IT IS BEAUTIFUL HOW GOD HAS BROUGHT HER INTO YOUR FAMILY. AND WHAT A WONDERFUL FRIEND YOU HAVE IN KRISTY. BY THE WAY , HOW DID KRISTY LIKE HER FIRST AIRPLANE RIDE? EVERY MORNING I WAKE UP AND GO TO THE COMPUTER FIRST THING TO SEE HOW YOU AND KRISTY AND MAGGIE ARE DOING. IT IS AMAZING TO SEE HER PROGRESSION FROM SCARED AND FRIGHTENED LITTLE GIRL TO A HAPPY, LOVING DAUGHTER. I KNOW EVERYDAY WILL BRING NEW JOYS AND SURPRISES FOR YOU ALL. IT IS WONDERFUL THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO SHARE THIS WITH WITH SO MANY PEOPLE. KEN AND I FEEL LIKE WE ARE BACK IN CHINA READING YOUR STORY. . EVERYDAY I SHOW GIGI THE PICTURES AND SHE CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY WITH MAGGIE. GIGI TOLD ME''NOW MAGGIE HAPPY. SHE HAVE MOMMY LIKE ME.'' DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT. MAGGIE SOUNDS LIKE GIGI IN MANY WAYS. SHE SHUT DOWN FOR TWO DAYS WHEN WE FIRST GOT HER AND THEN SHE OPENED UP TO US.PICTURES OF MAGGIE WITH HER BIG SAD EYES AT FIRST LOOK JUST LIKE GIG DID. THERE ARE STILL TIMES THO WHEN SHE SHUTS DOWN BUT NOWHERE NEAR LIKE SHE DID BEFORE. NOW SOMETIMES SHE JUST HIDES HER EYES OR TURNS HER HEAD SO SHE WON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT SOMETHING. SHE IS INITIALLY FRIGHTENED OF MANY THINGS AND IT TAKES HER WHILE BEFORE SHE WILL TRY NEW THINGS. SHE PREFERS TO WATCH AND THEN DO. MAGGIE SOUNDS TENTATIVE AND QUIET LIKE GIGI. THEY ARE GOING TO LOVE PLAYING TOGETHER, I CAN TELL. AS FOR THE BATH, GIGI HATED IT SO AT FIRST WE JUST USED A WARM WASH CLOTH AND THEN WE GOT A BABY BATH TUB. I GUESS FROM THE ''WOOLY MART''( AS OUR GUIDE CALLED WAL-MART) GIGI DIDN'T SEEM TO MIND THE BABY TUB, AND WE JUST LEFT IT BEHIND AT THE HOTEL FOR OTHER PARENTS. WE CAN'T WAIT TO MEET MAGGIE IN PERSON AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO READING MORE ABOUT YOU TRIP. ANN-MARIE
Comments: Denise, Definitely the right colors for Maggie (Pink and Rose colors) she looks beautiful. You look really good yourself, soooooooooooooo happy. Love and prayers, Carolyn S
Comments: Dear Denise and Jeff and family, Oh, how God continues to bless you all. Maggie Mae is adorable and definitely part of God's plan to bless her and you. Seeing all your pictures of your trip just makes me want to give her a big hug and hold her and tell her all will be o.k. My heart aches for all the children in this world that are like Maggie - needing good homes and love. But praise God that you are doing something about that. Like Jeremiah 29 says, I can hardly wait to see what plans God has for Maggie. I know they'll be wonderful and awe inspiring! Thank you for being God's faithful servants and blessing Jesus by caring for one of His little ones. In Christ's Love, Annabel
Comments: Hello Denise, I'm a spanish mum that usually reads Kimber's three peanuts blog. I want to congratulate you for your little daughter and for being such a good mum...an example. Each day I read your travell blog and I see how your little girl is learning to trust and love you. God bless you, Belén.
Comments: So fun to have a little Maggie Mae with my coffee again this morning! I would agree, "Quiet Elegance!" or "Beautifully Regal" as I said yesterday! I can't imagine that precious face in person! She photographs beautifully! Just wait until Kim gets that Nikon out on her!!! Blessing for a safe trip to GZ! I know you will have fun there! You are on the home stretch now. I hope you enjoy these last special days together! These firsts together are priceless! Diana
Comments: Congratulations to you two. Maggie is so cute! Can't think of a better set of parents for her. Looking forward to meeting her when we return from Florida. Lyn
Comments: She looks so beautiful in her silks! I agree that she looks elegent. I had the same bath issue with Olivia. She was terrified of it. I decided it was not worth putting her through it. She already had so much going on. I gave her sponge baths. On the last day she initiated wanting a bath herself and she had a blast taking it. You will love Guangzhou...I hope the weather is good because there's so much to do outside! I can't wait to see more pictures of Maggie. Lynn
Comments: I love waking up in the morning and checking your blog! The joy that I see in Maggie's smile everyday with you I just know is the Lord's work! I'm praying for you! Blessings, Jenn
Comments: Denise, What a treat every morning to see how fabulous you all are doing. I cannot believe how Maggie's face radiates so much joy already. I hope your flight goes well. It is one step closer to coming home! It sounds as though Maggie is adjusting perfectly. I LOVE the silk outfits you bought her....she looks so radiant in those bright colors. Y'all are doing such an amazing job. In one week---we get to see you!!! Yippee!!! Love, Kim
Comments: Maggie is positively adorable and just gets more smiley every day! It is really fun to follow along on your journey. If she's still sick when you get to Guangzhou, you may want to take her to the CanAm Medical Clinic. It's at the Garden Hotel and is staffed by Canadian and American doctors. (It's about a 20 minute cab ride from Shamian Island.) It's very nice and is there primarily for expats living in China. It's not expensive and they even take some insurance plans. We took our girls there while we were in China. It gave me some peace of mind just to be able to communicate well with the doctor. I was most concerned about getting on an airplane with a child with an ear infection. Enjoy the rest of your trip. It's over so quickly. Kristi http://www.tolmanstuff.com
Comments: Denise, You must be so over joyed that this day has finally come to be with your little girl! I would be in heaven to have Maggie look at me the way she does at you in the picture "snack time"! That is priceless! She is absolutely darling and she has an amazing Mommy and family! I will continue to pray that the rest of your journey is a safe and enjoyable one! Jackie
Comments: Denise~ Everyday Maggie is glowing more!! She is just so darling...and sounds like you are enjoying every minute with her!!! Can't wait to see tomorrow's pictures!! Dawn ourlittlechinagirl.blogspot.com
Comments: Denise she is absolutely gorgous! This has been a very exciting journey for you and your family I am sure. I pray that your return is safe. Maggie is one lucky little girl to have a mom like you. You may want to get her some boxing gloves for her brothers. She is going to be soooooooo spoiled and most important so loved by you all. Look forward very much to meeting Ms. Maggie. Michelle
Comments: Greeting to all of you!! What a beautiful little girl and what a smile.. it just makes you smile looking at it.. I was talking to my mom on the phone last night and I told her about you and adopting Maggie... and she said it reminded her of when they adopted me and the rush of feelings and emotions..and bonding.. Hugs and love!! Monique
Comments: Hi Denise & Maggie, I'm so pleased to see your introduction to Maggie went fairly smoothly. You must have been on pins & needles, because I sure know I was--while reading your blog my heart rose and sank over and over again. As I always say, Cheerios will do it every time. I can't wait until you're safely back home, but particularily can't wait to see you both in person. Did you ever meet the man who found Maggie? God bless him. Waiting with baited breath for your next update. Love to you and Maggie, Dad
Comments: Hi Mrs. Feagans! I just wanted to let you know that I have been following your blog for about a month now and I'm so, so excited for you and your family. Maggie is beautiful and I can't wait to see her in person at the pool! Maybe one day I can teach her to swim?! You and your family are in my prayers
Comments: Hi Denise, It looks like everything is going so well! You look so natural with Maggie -- like she's always been with you. In God's eyes she has! I hope to meet Kristy one day... what an amazing friend! A week from tomorrow you'll be heading home. What an incredible journey! You are an incredible person! Love & Hugs, Alison
Comments: All's well here. Your house looks neat and clean, laundry up to date and the boys are GREAT!! Jeff has everything under control. WHAT A GUY!!!!!!! I have to relay this story to you---not sure if you're getting my other e-mails( you know me and computers) Last night when I put Nate to bed I did my usual routine. I said "You know what?" and he said "You love me right?" and we laughed. As I was leaving the room he said to me "Hey Grandma, you know what?" When I said what, he said "I love Maggie too." Of course when I go through the routine with Gabe he just laughs and says " I know - I know you love me. Glad to hear Maggie is feeling better. Enjoy seeing you in person but I'm sorry we can't hear you so well. We sure do miss you here and look forward to your return next week. Until then enjoy your beautiful little girl and the rest of your trip. Love to all three of you, Mom
Comments: You have been in my thoughts and prayers today and what a treat it was to see that Maggie seems to be feeling much better. She just looks so full of joy. I am reminded of the preciousness of my first days with Emily and how the newness of our love for her was so pure as well as the depth of meaning behind each and every gesture she made as an expression of trust in me as her mommy. My heart is so full as I see you basking in those moments with Maggie. How wonderful that she longs to be held by her mommy and the photo of her feeding you cheerios, well, there are tears in my eyes. Tears from remember those moments of our Emily feeding me and tears of joy in feeling your happiness of having Maggie express her love to you. I pray that your husbands and children are doing well and pray that God will begin preparing Maggie's little heart to warmly receive the love her daddy and brothers that is awaiting her.
Comments: Hi Denise! Glad Maggie is feeling better. Nate is very excited to see the video of the pandas when you get back. He invited us all over to your house when you get home; I didn't want to tell him you may want a few days or weeks to settle in! A note from Brynn: jgffhjkfgklhjjjnnngfhiuhjbijffhvhfhyrhjkiuhyjunhyh fyhjniutjughtkjhTauhufurlkiojkgiojtitu8tt7 Translation: I love you Ms. Denise. God Bless, Kate
Comments: Denise, your little girl is so beautiful. It has been such wonderful and emotional journey for you and your family. Just know that when she arrives here back in the states that she also has the added benefit of your extended family...the church and friends. Samantha and Matthew are excited about meeting Maggie. They wanted me to tell you that they hope you all have a safe trip back. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I am sure everyone of us have taken something positive away from your experiences. Robert and I pray that Maggie's transition is an easy one for your family upon your return. God Bless!! The Charles Family
Comments: Denise, again I want to thank you for sharing your amazing journey with us. We are logging on daily for the updates. I am so thankful that Maggie Mae is feeling better. You all look wonderful and so happy. Be safe and know that the 3 of you continue to be in our daily prayers. Also Denise, Nate is doing really well. I stopped in during his resource time with Charlta- just to chat. And can you believe it, he actually opened up and carried on a chatty conversation with me. Not the usual quick eye contact and looking away. He is very excited about Maggie. God Bless!!!
Comments: Denise, I have to confess that this is the first time I have looked at your blog. Every day when I talk with Lucy at 8 a.m. she is quick to share the latest events causing me to drown in tears of joy while driving to work - thank God for Kleenex! When my day ended earlier than expected today, I gave myself permission to view the pictures and read your heartfelt journal. Thank God again for more and more Kleenex! Praise God for you, your husband and boys who are truly Maggie's real family. We are all truly blessed to know you all. May God continue to bless you as you continue on this beautiful and inspiring journey. Love in Christ, Susan
Comments: My husband and I were logged in on 1-23-06, and are expecting a referral hopefully in June. I found your site a few days ago and now I am HOOKED! I can't wait each day to read about what you are experiencing and how Maggie's bonding is progressing. She is a beautiful girl and her smile lights up a room! It is encouraging to hear how quickly she has become attached to you. Have a wonderful rest of your trip and congratulations on your beautiful daughter! Shannon Stone
Comments: Denise: I'm so enjoying reading about your adventures! I keep thinking that you are very brave -- being in a foreign country with a young child you're only just getting to know. I laugh every time I read your comments on Maggie's ability to sleep -- that would be my number one worry! It seems like she's so happy to have you guys. Hope you continue to have successes and keep the blog rolling! Jen C.
Comments: Hi everybody! We all miss you... I talked to Mima a couple of days ago, and she sounded like everything was just fine... I got to spend the day with Hunter today! Call when you get back. Can't wait to see beautiful baby girl!!!!! xxoo Shannon
Comments: Hi Denise and Maggie Mae! I am so enjoying your blog and pictures every day! It really makes us feel like we are a part of things with you and Maggie and the rest of your family. It's wonderful to be able to share in this very special time with you. She is so beautiful and so fortunate to have you as Mama! We pray for you and your safe return each day....it is a very brave and loving thing that you are doing and God has truly blessed you with a beautiful child in need of the love you can give her. We can't wait to meet Maggie in person. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us this way. God bless, Lynn Schaeffer
Comments: Good morning, Mama! I hope you come back from China soon! I saw the picture of you and the panda bears and Maggie Mae. I like the panda bears they look like Hunter and Jordan playing! I had a good day at school. I am eating some ice cream. I LOVE You! Love, Hunter
Comments: tell maggie I said hello. I hope you have a good time with maggie. I learnd cersive this week. love gabe xoxoxo
Comments: Loved your China observations! So true. We just got home last week and our thoughts echoed most of yours. I just told my hubby, "Please remind me to stop being so agressive in crowds once we get back to the ol' US of A!" And aren't those squatty potties about enough to make you start seeing the wisdom of split pants??!! Once you get a toddlers leggings, skirt or pants and pullups off and on in one of those, you feel an overwhelming urge to bathe yourself in hand sanitizer!! Ugh! Enjoy the journey and congratulations! ~ Vonda, new mom to Emalie
Comments: Denise, I found your website through my daughter's who adopted a 9 year old girl from China a few weeks ago. I love the blogs you post and you are right your Maggie Mae is beautiful! Best wishes and God speed for the rest of your trip. Your boys will absolutley love her! Kathy
Comments: Hi Denise, It is wonderful to be able to follow you on your journey. Maggie is so beautiful I am sorry she got sick but glad she is better. You are a born mother and Maggie is so blessed to have you. I know God wanted her exactly where she is, in the Feagans family. I will continue to pray for your safety. In Christ, Gayle
Comments: Okay, Denise. Should be working but just received this in an email and thought how appropriate. Maggie, always remember you are special because you are chosen - a special gift from God. Teacher Debbie Moon's first graders were discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture had a different hair color than the other members. One of her students suggested that he was adopted. A little girl said, 'I know all about adoption, I was adopted..' 'What does it mean to be adopted?', asked another child. 'It means', said the girl, 'that you grew in your mommy's heart instead of her tummy!' Irene
Comments: Okay Denise, definately did not plan on posting on your blog EVERY day but it seems I can't help myself! I caught myself nodding and agreeing with your post today as I read it. You are definately right about the traffic crazyness, no lines in McDonalds, and the smoking! The first time Mark went to McDonalds in Guangzhou he took Katelyn with him and when he got back he said "I'm not going there during lunch by myself again"! Glad Maggie is feeling better! Tomorrow Guangzhou! Have a wonderful time! Love reading the blog! Love, Tina
Comments: Well, Nate had fun here yesterday! I think playing Wii without having to share with his brothers was a highlight. I wanted to share with you a sweet moment ...I said to Nate,"So you got to see your mom on the webcam" to which he responded "and MAGGIE!" There was such a mix of pride, excitement, and joy in his voice! It was wonderful! She is such a lucky girl to have a family like yours to love her! And you are so blessed to have MAggie as a part of your lives! I teased all the children yesterday...telling them that the boy:girl ratio in Tanyard is quickly changing! Of couse the boys responded that "the boys still rule." Know that you are in my prayers!
Comments: Denise, you mentioned the spitting on the sidewalks. Have you and Kristy experienced the urinating on sidewalks...by grown men or babies? Yep, I saw that! I am reliving my year in China through your experiences! The driving...the thousands of bikes...the squatty potties! So happy things are going well. Maggie's smile is certainly contagious. Sending love from Atlanta and looking forward to your next post... Mandy
Comments: Maggie seems to be doing great! I'm so glad she seemed to be feeling better today. I think the high chair thing is totally natural - it took about 5 or 6 days before Lily would sit in a high chair. Now, 10 days after Gotcha Day she will usually sit in one and has become octopus arms at the table!!! Lily and I can't wait to meet you and Maggie! Rachel
Comments: Denise, It looks so natural to see Maggie in your arms, like she's been there forever, not just for a few days. Maggie - the rest of this one's for you for later on. You have joined a wonderful, loving and giving family and I know that God has had this planned for all of you for a long time. Your mother is not only beautiful on the outside, but is even more radiant and beautiful on the inside. The joy on her face is a testament that the longing and wishing she had for you has finally been fulfilled, in God's time of course. You don't know what's in store for you, but the rest of us do. You are coming home to arms that are aching to hold and hug you, not only those of your family (including Grandma Lucy and Granddad John) but a tremendous church family who have prayed along with your family for a smooth transition and the opening of your heart to their love and desire. When you are older, you will realize that God's plan for you was absolutely perfect and you couldn't have gotten a better home than the Feagans. While keeping the "girly girl" will be difficult with four brothers (Nate tells me he's going to teach her to wrestle and play baseball), know that you are a most loved and wanted child, not only for your family, but those of us who have taken this journey with your parents, through their daily ups and downs, in prayer and in love. Best wishes to you all and traveling mercies for a smooth trip home Irene
Comments: Hi, Girls!!! It has been a pleasure to view your photos each day. You all three look beautiful and glowing! I was thinking how blessed Maggie is to have two experienced -- very experienced -- Mommies caring for her. I imagine the first-time mothers in your travel group (if there are any) are not nearly as relaxed and confident as the two of you. I also imagine there is a lot of LOVE flowing and hearts growing as you bond with one another. Add to that all the fun and interesting travel experiences, and you will have memories to last a life-time!!! It is so great to see you having fun together, though I know you are missing your families and counting the days 'til the trip home. From reading the posts, it sounds as though you will have many expectant, exuberant greeters waiting for you at the airport! "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10) How overwhelmingly awesome to know that God knew the plans He had for you long ago, plans to go to China and bring Maggie home, to raise her "in the training and instruction of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4) How awesome to think that you are all participants in His divine plan. It is so amazing and incomprehensible how He weaves and works all things together "for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) You GLOW girls!!!
Comments: Denise, Maggie is just so beautiful!! I love seeing her pictures every day. It sounds like she is adjusting appropriately. I'm really enjoying following along with you! Lynn
Comments: Denise, I am so glad Maggie seems to be feeling better. You must be so tired from carrying her everywhere! It's been a while since we've had 2 year olds! She is just beautiful. Can't wait to see more. Jennifer
Comments: Maggie is beautiful. She looks so happy and seems to be adjusting beautifully, especially since she is not feeling well. My daughter (I was there in July) had the same lady bug pjs....and LOVED her chap stick too.... still does. It goes all over the lower half of her face! I guess your Maggie is quite a "girly girl". I am so happy for you and am so glad I can watch as you become a family! It will be wonderful to see her the pictures when you get home to the rest of your family as well. Blessings and Prayers for safety and health for the rest of your trip
Comments: Hi Denise and Kristy and Maggie, Thank you for the verse. You guys are GREAT! It looks like another great day with Maggie. She looks so happy with you. It is like she knows you are meant to be her Mommy. I am glad you are soaking in everything her city has to offer. These entries and photos will be so important to her one day. I literally am counting the days until you get home. I cannot wait to capture Miss Maggie with my camera at the airport. Then, I know here will be a long settling in period but I am dying for a play date. You guys are amazing. In spite of everything you have endured on this trip, you are so strong and gracious. I think you'll be leaving for Guangzhou soon? I hope Maggie does well on her first plane ride. I know you be happy to see the rest of your travel buddies too. Take a picture! Love, Kim
Comments: Good Morning or I should say good evening, Guess you were out shopping this morning, as Mitch said she just isn't on-line. They will try to call tonight our time, and hopefully I will be able to be there. All is well, Jeff is doing a great job. Reading Kelly's comments I guess I am a little overwhelming to everyone over Maggie. I just want them to see how beautiful she is, cannot wait until you come home I told Jeff after the picture with the beads and the beautiful smile, (my favorite, I printed it out for my show and tell at choir last night), that I could see beauty pageants which meant evening gowns. I also ask Burchie what age she started her students for piano. Hope Maggie is feeling better and will pray your flight goes well. Hugs and kisses to all Lucy
Comments: Hey girl, We're right there with you. Andrew went downhill quick yesterday. We got back from the parks and his temp was up to 104! We started alternating the advil and tylenol. He also has a nasty cough. We started his antibiotic and Steed brought us an herbal cough syrup and fever medicine that they use here. Temp was down to 99.2 this am and back to 101 this afternoon. We've stayed in and tried to keep him away from the other kids. It was a long night and a long day today. Look forward to seeing you Saturday. Love you. Hey to Kristy and maggie mae. Give her a big kiss. hope she get well soon. lisa

It's wonderful to see the progress and bonding taking place as each day passes. What a wonderful future you will have together... a true blessing to each other and to your family at home... I'm sure they are so excited to see her in person! God bless you all and enjoy the journey!! Once again, CONGRATS!!! <><
Comments: Denise, She is such a beautiful little girl. Her smile just lights up a room and her eyes seem to sparkle!!! She looks tall -- remind me again how old she is? Cassidy just turned 3 but your daughter seems much taller and I didn't remember her being 3 yet. Glad she is doing so well adjusting and hope the advil and antibiotic does the trick for you and she's not down for long. So glad the trip is going well now (no lost luggage!) and you're enjoying it and she's starting to bond with you. Isn't it great when she calls you Mama? Cassidy is doing wonderfully adjusting to home here in the US. We got home 2 weeks ago yesterday and it seems like she's been with us forever! I'm enjoying following your journey. Thanks for posting pictures!! Tamara
Comments: You know Lucy has been positively squirming with excitement all day over the prospect of attending your webcast in the morning. But when I arrived a couple of minutes late, I told her I was posting my previous comment about the kids in my class - she claimed that was no excuse! =8-o She said she could deliver my comment 'in person' in the morning webcast! (I told her this way Maggie gets a copy - right, Maggie? Trust me, stick with me on this one, 'cause Lucy would do *anything* for you!) ;-D
Comments: Congratulations, Denise. Maggie is just adorable! She is going to be a perfect fit for your family! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Comments: What a difference from a few days ago, isn't it? Everything sounds like it's right on track. Good job, Mama and Baba. And look how stunning she is. So beautiful. Sending our best for a speedy recovery! Judi
Comments: I have been following your blog for a bit, and I just had to post today. The pictures of your daughter have really touched my heart. She just looks like she's blooming. I know, she's got a long road to travel from here, but how blessed you all are!! Those kisses must just be TREASURES!! I have been, and will continue to pray for your family and for Maggie Mae. Blessings, Jenna

Comments: Denise, In our AWANA class tonight Carmen added you & Maggie (& Jeff & Gabe) to our prayer list. She misses Jeff as her breakfast buddy, but she knows it's because he's so busy right now while you went to get Maggie. So I got out my palm top cell phone and read your April 2nd blog post to my class. Malynda wants to know when Maggie will come to church. I said probably not right away since she needs to get to know her new family first. I passed my phone around (gulp) so each child could look at the *gorgeous* pictus you posted today of Maggie's radiant smile! We all miss you and thank you and your family for your courage, inspiration, leadersip, and blessings! Come home soon and safely so we can love on you. Kelly
Comments: Denise, I drove through Louisa County today on a homeschool field trip to Monticello, and prayed for you and your beautiful Maggie! Thanks for allowing all of us to follow you on your trip. We leave May 1st! Lyn
Comments: Denise! I have to tell you--I can't get beautiful Maggies out of my head. All day yesterday and today--she keeps floating around in my head making me smile all day long. I am so deeply happy for you--and for Maggie. Today's pics are sooooo amazingly beautiful. I love Kristy's comment about how she lights up when you're in the room! My thoughts immediately went to, "of course, Maggie is so smart--she knows she has the most beautiful mommy--with the heart of an angel.!" You're daily post are the highlight of my day. Hope Maggie is feeling better soon! Lisa Arndt
Comments: Denise, I just got on to show Richard Miss Maggie. He couldn't stop saying how beautiful she is, and then said, "OK, can we just have her?" I just thought it was sweet, and that I'd share it with you. Can't wait till tomorrow's update. Jennifer

Comments: Denise, she is sooo beautiful. She truly is. And that smile. Well she is already like her Mama! I mean, I can just tell from your blog/photos that you are one of those people that smiles all the time! Aren't you? It is true, isn't it? I just love being around people like that! And just look at her smile too. From ear to ear! OH, I have to go back and look at the photos again! I noticed too that one of your sons wrote a message. That is tooo sweet! I bet all 5 of your guys are missing you both terribly. You'll be home before you know it. Praying for Maggie's health to be quickly restored and for you and Kristy too! Love in Christ from TN!
Comments: Maggie gets more beautiful every day. The peace that is falling upon her is evident in each picture as she is being drawn into your love. May God continue to go before you each day providing for each and every need that you, Maggie and Kristy have. I pray that HIS healing hands fall upon Maggie right now restoring her to perfect health. Thanks again for sharing this special time with us. How my heart has been touched by the beauty of your love for Maggie and the sweetness of her growing love for you. Soak in each and every moment and hold tight to each emotion, feeling and thought. Know that prayers for you continue to go forth from Florida.
Comments: All I can say is "wow"! That lost luggage has been my greatest fear as we wait for "our turn" one day - your story and these beautiful pictures are a wonderful reminder of what this is all about. I wonder if you've even thought about all that drama in the last 48 hours? Maggie is so adorable, I was tearing up reading your blog today and I am NOT a cryer! She already looks like she's been yours forever. Am praying for you, Maggie and Kristy and of course the rest of Maggie's new family back home. Fondly, Linda B (yahoo group)

Hope she is feeling better soon. So happy for you!!!!!!!! Take care, Michele
Comments: I was trying to think of something original to say but I really just want to echo what the other comments say. Your little Maggie looks like an absolute princess and it won't be long before you all get to be together. I am sorry she was feeling so lousy but the bonding taking place must make your heart soar! I am so glad to be able to witness some of your journey. Praying that the strength and love of others who are supporting you on this journey are felt by you always! What a blessing. Love and happiness, Anna in Idaho
Comments: Hey Denise, Kristy and beautiful Maggie Mae, Wow, what a beauty, even when she isn't feeling well. Well, Maggie is bigger then you expected and Hudson is smaller than we expected. He should be in 18 mo. We had to do a bit of shopping yesterday.... He is doing well. VERY attached to me and hasn't yet gone to Mark but we are making progress. He is a crack up!!!! We are all craving American food here..drink a starbucks for us!! We did find Dove chocolate today so that helps!!! Andrew is sick also, 102 fever. I started Hudson on an antibiotic yesterday. He was congested when we got him but didn't know if it was his cleft or what...well, yesterday, thick, green snot (sorry, but your a mom..) and he was VERY cranky. I didn't want to take chances on waiting. After three doses, congestion gone and he seems to be much happier. Glad we brought it. Can't wait to meet up on Friday. We miss you guys!!! Love, Sharon

Comments: Hi Ladies, and Miss Maggie Mae! Greetings from Minneapolis, where the sun is shining, and it is starting to look and feel like the snow will really melt. What a blessing to see more beautiful pictures of Maggie this morning. I think she is absolutely regal! It is clear to me that God has been preparing her heart for this time. She really looks happy! So sorry about her cough & cold. But, what a blessing that you and Kristy are professional Mom's and you know exactly what to do for her! Soon you will be in Guangzhou shopping your hearts out and catching up with your other AWAA friends! Before you know it you will be home, and Maggie will have the blessing of her Daddy and brothers loving her up! I look forward to more Maggie Mae tomorrow! -Diana
Comments: I can't tell you how many times I check to see if you've posted anything new! Maggie is truly a beautiful little girl; I know your heart must be so full right now! So sorry that she's feeling a little under the weather right now; hope that passes soon. Comments: Good morning Denise, Kristy and Maggie Mae (well at least it is morning here) - I'm glad to see that Maggie is progressing, as I knew she would, and I talked to Jeff yesterday and he definitely has that Proud Dad sound on the phone. Carley says Gabe is doing great in school and they are all excited about their field trip to Maymont and the fact that Mrs. Vesely is supposed to bring chick eggs in to hatch. I am sorry that Maggie has been running a fever, but as they say "this too shall pass". Precious pictures and memories to last a lifetime! Looking forward to my next daily dose of Maggie tomorrow
Comments: Denise, And though it will be hard, we will remember to give Miss Maggie plenty of time to adjust, but as soon as you give all of us at church the all clear, she will be covered in hugs and kisses
Comments: Hi Denise (and Kristy) Maggie is positively gorgeous. If I do nothing else on the computer all day, I at least check here several million times. Sorry Maggie is not feeling well and hopefully she will perk up quickly, looks like the Advil did the trick These pictures are fabulous. Wow, seeing her finding spot - I cannot even imagine how emotional. I have pictured Hannah's many times in my head, I am certain I have over romanticized this place to appease the ache in my heart when I think of those moments for her. Praise God precious Maggie is safe in your arms and bonding so beautifully. Our love to you! Heather, Rob, Emily and Hannah
Comments: Outside of being a little sick, it sounds like Maggie is doing great. Her smile is priceless and beautiful! You must be so happy. I'm glad all is going well and I hope it continues to do so. Rachel stafeilfamily.blogspot.com

Thank you so much for allowing us to share your trip with you. She's absolutely beautiful. God still works miracles !!!!! Love, Scott and Kim O.
Comments: Good Morning Girls, I can now leave for work, I have had my morning fix seeing Maggie's smiling face. I have been invited over to see Maggie on the web-cam and I hope to be there in the morning. Nate is here and appears fine, chatting away as usual, with the usual 1000 questions. Tonight John goes with Gabe to baseball, they have a plan !!!!!! Hope the medicine will help Maggie and she will feel better soon, we miss you. Hugs Lucy
Comments: Good morning~ What a joy to mosey on into my computer this morning and see Maggie's beaming smile. She looks so happy, Denise! I am sorry she wasn't feeling well and hope it isn't anything serious. I love that she's recognizing you and the boys. I also love that she loves french fries with ketchup. Too cute!!! Have fun with the Pandas! Hugs from TX, Lisa & Lindy Li
Comments: She is just so beautiful! She looks so so happy, makes my heart just melt. That is wonderful that she is already bonding with you over Kristy. She knows her mommy! Hoping she feels better! Enjoy your time in China, it is such a magical trip, full of so many emotions, take them all in. One thing that we forgot to do was to take a baggie and place some soil in it for her, it is so meaningful later on, trust me! Oh I wish I was there! You will look back on this trip with such fondness, these days will forever change you.
Comments: Hey Denise, Just viewed the blog. Finally got mine updated and started checking others. Maggie is beautiful. Can't wait to see you, Kristy and Maggie in Guangzhou. It truly is amazing isn't it. God is so good. Sorry the luggage saga continued. Glad you finally got it. Wish we had your Western food options. We only have KFC here. The kids are all getting along well and playing together. The older kids are really a big help to us gabby girls. Wish we could all be together through this but we will see you again on Friday. Love you girl. In His Grip, Lisa

Comments: "EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFT COMES FROM ABOVE." Maggie, you are God's MASTERPIECE, HIS MOST PRIZED POSSESSION. And you are BEAUTIFUL and though I have never met your Mama, I can tell you that she has prayed for you, cried for you, longed for you and that she loves you so much! And just wait until you meet all those brothers and your Daddy back home! You are in for a real surprise and treat! Denise, I stand amazed with you at God's perfect plan for Maggie and you and your family. Praise God from Whom the most precious blessings flow. Thank you so much for allowing us to get a glimpse into this miracle as it unfolds there in China. WOW! So, so happy for you! Just full of joy! And I have to say you are blessed to have such a wonderful friend in Kristy that she would travel halfway across the world with you to bring Maggie home! What a blessing too!
Comments: Back from your house and all is well there. Neat and clean( yes I checked the toilets) washing machine and dryer empty. You have a jewel for a husband! The boys are fine too. Nate didn't want to leave Kate's house when I picked him up today. I was putting him to bed when you called back tonight and he just kept saying over and over that he wanted to see Maggie. Other boys are doing good too and Garrett's team killed Fluvanna( to quote Garrett) Mitch is great at operating the computer so I leave it up to him. Gabe is fine too and enjoys going to Lucy's every day. They are all very anxious to see Maggie in person. We could see you fine on the computer but the sound kept cutting out just like it did with Tommy last week. It was still good to see you and Maggie in person. At one point we could hear Kristy very clearly. I miss you very much and all our conversations in the AM. Maggie is so beautiful and seems to be making great progress with you and Kristy. She must feel the love! I'll be at your house again tomorrow night and we'll try to call you around 7:30 before Nate goes to bed. If that's too early let me know. I want to see that little girl keep her good sleeping habits so she sleeps in when she comes to Grandma's . HA! HA! Love to the 3 of you. Mom
Comments: Denise...while I tend to think all Asian little ones are gorgeous, mine especially, I must say...your Maggie is truly breathtaking! And what a joy to know of her sweet personality beginning to shine through. My ShaoXi (now 11.5 yrs old!, and adopted at 14.5 mos.) spent her entire first afternoon with me wailing uncontrollably. I traveled alone, and our guide was off with half of our group, who had to travel to their children's province capitol...so I was on my own. It was so sad to see such grief and devastation in such a little girl...but the next morning, when she woke up...AH...she piped out "Uh?"...I smiled, softly clapped my hands together and say "Hi, baby! Wanna come?" and held out my arms to her. Her arms flew up in the air, and that was that. We were forever linked, heart to heart. Enjoy each wonderful, amazing moment. I can tell you that more than 10 years later, I still do! Hugs...Nancy (blessed Mama to Kristin ShaoXi Clara Johnson)
Comments: Dear Miss Denise and Maggie Mae, "How are you doing? I hope you get back soon. Can we come over when you get home and see Maggie? How is China? Do you like it at China ("Shina" is actually the direct quote here.u We are praying for you! Love, Elizabeth
Comments: Denise, I am so moved as I read about your experience in China with Maggie Mae. God has truly blessed you. She is so beautiful and sweet. Just remember, in my experience, that after the elementary school years it seems they fly away at the drop of a hat. Can’t have them long enough. Take care and we are praying for your safe return and when Maggie Mae can meet her church family. Love, Bernice
Comments: Denise, I love checking your blog each day to see the latest pictures and hear the details, it's like we're there with you! I showed my kiddos the pictures of Maggie today and they all 3 said "Wow, she's so pretty!" and Natalie said "That's my Maggie", all ready for a play group! :-) Rex saw the blog the first tiime today and said "How cool, that is so cool"... he's been at work for days! Anyway, continued prayers for all 3 of you as you all adjust to each other. I can see by the baby steps that God is blessing you and the picture of her kissing you just melted my heart. Lots of love and blessings, Becky and crew
Comments: Denise: How beautiful your daughter is and what a joyous smile she has. Continued blessings on your trip and in your journey to bond with her. Toni

Comments: Oh my goodness Denise, Maggie is absolutely beautiful and the joy expressed on your face blesses my heart. I thank God right now for your gift of Maggie. Seeing her smile thrills my soul. I pray that as you get to know one another that she will continue to feel at peace. May the Lord ease the her grieving heart and may you continue to have those special moments of bonding with her and seeing her smile. What a treat it is for me to be reminded of the miracle of adoption as I share this journey with you. Sending you lots of hugs and love
Comments: We are thrilled for you that you have your daughter and are making your way through your first days together. I held my 4 year old daughter and cried today while reading your gotcha post. Comments: The smile on Maggie's little face says it all!!!!! Thanks for all the info and pictures. Every place I've been in town people are asking for you or telling me they're following your blog. It's like all of Louisa has a piece of them in China right now. Going to your house tonight to help Jeff out. Love Mom
Comments: Brynn looked at Maggie's picture of her smiling and said, "Wow, she pretty." She really likes the kiss picture. She wants to type you a message: ntkmmknfjnd.h, ,,,,mkmmmmdm mg,,,gg gg gndknnljendjsnjhg ,mdm f b,d. ~ She told me this says, "I want to write this note to Ms. Denise because I love her." Nate says "I love you" but he is too busy doing a puzzle to say much more... a man of few words. Evan wanted me to tell you, "I love you and I love the pictures and have fun in China and Maggie is cute and I can't wait for you both to come home. I love Maggie." Looks like you will be chasing off the boys from the start... sorry Jeff. Have a great day! Kate
Comments: Lindy and I just got home from Ladies Bible Class and I rushed to check in for more pix of Maggie (and you, too). What a blessing to her smiling and having fun!!! I am so happy for you to be able to see this transition and know it is indeed an answer to many prayers. Thank you for taking the time to post and update us with pictures and journals. It is such a joy to "travel" with you. Praising our AWESOME God!!!! Lisa
Comments: What a difference a day makes, God is good all the time. Denise you will appreciate this, knowing John. We got up early this morning and the first thing he said,"Are there any new pictures?" Of course as soon as he saw the beads, he just smiled "the beads I gave Maggie" We are in awe of the transformation from photo to photo. God had prepared you so well and she feels it, you can tell. Read Kate's blog and now she knows how we felt waiting and watching for every word and photo of Brynn. I pray things continue to go well, you know prayers are lifted daily for you, Kristy and Miss Maggie. John took Nate his treat this morning, he is doing well. Hugs Lucy

I just had to comment that your Maggie is just beautiful!!! Her name just fits..you couldn't have picked a better name for her sweet little face. I have a Maggie too. Good luck on the remainder of your trip. Heather
Comments: I am so pleased for you! What an exciting time! GOD IS GOOD! I saw Jeff today and the smile on his face said it all! I know the boys at home are thrilled to see the progress Maggie is making. Kirby was sad to hear that Maggie wouldn't be here in time for her Birthday, but she has already decided that maybe Maggie can come to Noah's party in May. I love that children are so loving and accepting! Thanks for sharing the sign story...you know that it warms my heart! Looking forward to more smiles!

Comments: Denise, What a joy to see Maggie Mae smiling. John will be so happy when he checks the blog tonight. He was afraid she was going to be unhappy and scared after yesterday, but said the nanny knew the answer. "Sweets always make things better" is his philosophy. It looks so natural to see her sleeping in her mother's arms and she just belongs there. God is so wonderful and his blessings abound. Best of luck for the next 11 days.
Comments: It is so wonderful to see you two together. It brings back memories of just 4 months ago with Zoe. Maggie does look like a big girl every says that about Zoe too. You will be amazed at how quickly this little girl will become your boss and your best friend. Just a heads up, Maggie may reject you for a Chinese person at the start(Zoe tried to trade me in the 2nd day at breakfast LOL) and then she may reject Chinese people, refused to look at them... these are all normal reactions... I am so happy to see you bonding with your girl... Have fun shopping and have a quick and safe trip home.. peace and much happiness Bonnie and Zoe ![]() http://www.bringingzoehome.blogspot.com
Comments: What a wonderful day. I couldn't wait to check your site this morning and what a wonderful way to start the day. Maggie is BEAUTIFUL and you have that "new mother" (to a girl that is) glow. (Kate and I do all around the garden too and all around the playground goes the little mouse...one step two steps in his little house (tickle too)! Maggie is so gorgeous and there is light in her eyes. Love makes such a difference. Oh wait until Jeff and the boys get to loving on her! She will be flooded. Comments: Dear Denise: I have been following your endeavor (through your Mom) for two years now. Frankly, I thought you were a little nuts. But today, seeing you holding Maggie May in your arms I just broke into tears of joy for you and her and, of course, your whole family. The beds in China may be hard and small, but you all will surely sleep like angels. You are awesome! Also, am in awe that they have a Walmarts in China! I will keep reading and just waiting until that wonderful day you all come home. God Bless. Love, Pat Agres

Comments: Denise, I am sitting here with butterflies in my stomach. I remember vividly our Forever Family Day. My daughter cried so hard, and it broke my heart that I could not comfort her at that moment. But the love that came pouring out of my heart for her I knew that everything would be okay. Now, today even I get those same intense happy feelings knowing that God brought us together and I can't imagine being any happier than I am right now. It is so wonderful to have a daughter! Maggie is beautiful and the one pic of her sleeping...she looks like an angel. Blessings to you and your family! I will look forward to the rest of your journey through China. But really what I can't wait for is to see how her brothers react to her when you get home. Becky mom to Jacob,Travis, Ryan, Ty and my daughter from China....Lilly

Sondra, Bill, and Gage too
Comments: Lucy just shared via email that you finally got to hold Maggie - I am so very happy for you. The pictures are wonderful and there is such joy on your face. Maggie is beautiful, and as we have been camping this week-end I couldn't wait to check your site this morning, and to no disappointment it brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. As your site is called "love grows more love", I know each and every day the bond between you two will strengthen and grow just as Gods love does every day. Denise, I sense that many, many souls are rejoicing this morning as we look at the pictures of you with your sweet Maggie! What a blessing! What an honor! Kristy, hugs to you!!! I can't imagine a better travel companion for Denise on this journey. You have been such an encourager! Comments: OH my... wow what a start.. You and Kristy are both in my prayers.. and I am so excited for you to meet your new daughter..
Comments: In Sunday School class this morning, Jeff said they haven't broken anything yet. (He also suggested you arranged the lost luggage as an excuse to go shopping, but I'm pretty sure he was kidding about that part.) Oooops - and now I ratted him out. Oh darn. And while you're blogging about Who is in control, here is a verse for ya: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Comments: Sounds like you have had a rough start! I remember feeling like we were on the amazing race as well! Hoping your luggage reaches you soon, if it makes you feel better my mother in law's, my cousins (who adopted) and another couple in our group had lost theirs as well but were reunited with it and all was safe and sound. Can't wait to see Maggie in your arms after all of this!! Leslie @myahsdays.blogspot.com
Comments: Wow!! I just laughed as you said it correctly about driving in China is like the game Frogger and the Amazing Race. I can't wait for your big day tomorrow, for you to hold your little girl!!! Take care, Michele Houston
Comments: Denise, What a story! Cannot imagine such a beginning - I'm sure all will turn around once you meet Miss Maggie! All will come to fruition very soon and there will be sunny skies from now on. What a story to tell her when she grows up. We have been without telephone service since Thursday so I am using your site sooner than what I expected. Have been in touch with Jeff via e-mail for updates as well. I just put Gage to bed. He has been wonderful; we so enjoy having him. The telephone is suppose to be fixed by tomorrow - cannot believe I miss the phone ringing. The shower was great and Miss Feagans received lots of pink! Beth, Jaime, and Boot came as well as Janet. Mary came and purchased a holly bush to be planted in honor of the baby in addition to a target gift card. All of Judy's daughters came, Donna, Joanne, as well as the "sisters." Good crowd - we missed you though, but all are anximously awaiting your return. Stay safe; our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you. Love, Sondra
Comments: Denise, I am sitting here laughing and crying. You are such a good sport. I must say that I have not heard of all of this happening to anyone else!!! I am just thinking that you are getting all of the bad luck out of the way BEFORE you meet Maggie so that it will be smooth sailing from here on out. I know that I will be awake all night thinking about your dream finally coming true. This is just so incredibly exciting!!! I had tears of joy as I read your last few lines about sleeping under the same stares as your daughter... The pink is honor of Miss Maggie Mae Day! Much love, Kim P.S. Will suggested this verse for today although I e-mailed you a different one...I was a stranger and you invited me in. Matthew 25:35
Comments: Firstly let me say thank you! I hope you dont mind, I have been reading about your journey. My husband and I are concidering adopting from China, and reading these sites really gives us a good idea of what to expect. Secondly, I am parying and sending good thoughts your way. Best wishes as you meet Maggie Mae today and I can't wait to read about it! Rachel
Comments: Denise, John and I were reading your blog last night, having a sort of geography lesson, too, as we did research on the forbidden city and the different locations afterwards. (Sorry, I digress.) When we were reading about your trials, he said "She must really want Maggie to go through all that!. she must really love her already." I explained to him how a mother loves her child long before it is born and that this isn't any different. You've been waiting for Maggie like we wait for all God's precious gifts. When I told him Kristy had never flown before, he looked at me and said - "Now that's a true friend." thought you'd enjoy a child's perspective on the trip. John has just gotten two Chinese boys in his guitar class at the high school and is paired with them to help them each day. He is trying to learn basic words in Chinese so he can communicate with Maggie in the nursery (I see this as an idea he might be able to get out of the worship service more often). He's hoping the boys will be able to teach him basic words as he teaches them simple English. Good luck and keeping you in our prayers. We're so excited for you all and for Maggie to have loving arms aching to hold her.
Comments: Hmmm, I'm thinking maybe you should become a writer! I'm so sorry for all that is going wrong with your trip, but your outlook about it all is entertaining to say the least. You're SO right- you will see Maggie tomorrow and it will all be okay. Can't wait to see that post!! Take care! Laurie
Comments: Your trip has started to remind me of the movie "The Out of Towners." Everything that can possibly go wrong does-- like Murphy's Law. You and Kristy sound like you're going with the flow now and I'm proud of you!!!!! You must be so excited about meeting Maggie tomorrow---please give her a hug and kiss from Grandma. Thanks again to Kristy--- if I was there I'd probably be in a hospital ward by now..HA!HA! Love you Mom
Comments: Hi! We are so excited for you all! God is so good! Your joy will carry me toward our own trip to China! HUGS and Prayers, Michelle
Comments: Denise, I wonder if you are even able to be sleeping at this time. Prayers for you at church today, everyone is so excited. I was afraid today was going to be a let done after last Sunday, but it was not. Cynthia Murray was there and she was amazing. The children flocked to her after the service. Mitch showed her a photo of Maggie, he was so proud. The boys and I discussed the time change etc. the whole way home. They are so excited, we all are counting the hours, not days or months but hours, how great is our God !! Hugs to you Lucy
Comments: Oh my gosh!!! I know there were times this wasn't at all funny, but man ...it's been so entertaining to read!!! We're hoping you have much better days ahead as you get your little girl ! ~Rachel Journey to Ella Rose
Comments: Sorry about your luggage story -- glad the airlines found it. I loved the Summer Palace -- absolutely loved it. The lion picture for your boys is actually a female lion -- you can see her upraised foot is on an upside down lion cub (which looks much more like a frog to me)... this means that the woman is in charge of the children. The male lion's upraised foot is resting on a ball...signifying the man is in charge of the world. Thought that was interesting. You'll now notice all of the lions in China and will be able to tell which is the male and which is the female. When we were at the Summer Palace, I wanted to get a picture of me with my sons near the lion statue. Unfortunately, we were standing in front of the "male" lion (we didn't know the difference at that time!), and about 15 Chinese people started yelling at us and motioning for us to move to the other lion for our picture. That's when our guide explained the difference... Can't wait to see you with sweet Maggie Mae....
Comments: Well, Amazing Race is my favorite show! I can't believe all of the travel craziness! Thank God for Wal-mart - in any language!! You are so close to holding your sweet girl. I don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight. I am so excited for you! You know, if everything was running smoothly, it might be boring!! lol
Comments: Hi Girls!!!! First of all I just want to say BLESS YOUR HEARTS!!!! Thank God for keeping your sense of humors intact! Kristy, I just keep thinking of this as your first trip, and I can't imagine what you are thinking.... You really should be writing your own China Adoption version of "Planes, Trains & Automobiles!" It is already now the day you will be meeting precious Maggie! Someday you will tell her this story, and she will understand just how much you truly loved her even before you met her in person for the first time. Blessings to all three of you as you begin a new part of this very special heart journey! Hugs, Diana
Comments: Denise, I know that you are in Chengdu by now and I hope your luggage is too. Keep your sense of humor. You will look back one day and laugh at the adventure(easy for me to say right?). We are praying for Jeff and the boys and you and Kristy and dear Maggie that her heart is ready for all the love she is about to get! I will not be a able to sleep tonight and will be checking my e-mail and the sites (even though I know it will be morning before anything is there). Blessings dear friend. Love, Kim
Comments: Hope your trip to Chengdu will go smoothly. Can't wait to see you and Maggie together at last!! Jean Kern sends her love too. Looking forward to your next post. Hope you finally have your luggage. Again, thanks Kristy for being there. Love, Mom
Comments: Denise, I'm so sorry to hear about all the problems you have had since being in China. You continue to inspire me by your uplifting attitude. Please know I am praying for you there and all your boys here at home. I can't wait for you to get Maggie and see those first pictures, I'm so excited for you! This journey is almost over and a new one will begin. Love and Blessings, Becky
Comments: Oh, Denise- I cannot believe what you've gone through in the past two days. I'm so sorry things didn't go smoothly, but it sounds like you're figuring out ways to get through it- at least you got a new coat out of the deal? Sorry- trying to find a silver lining! I can't wait to read tomorrow's post!!
Comments: Hi Denise! You're in China!! Wow!! Sorry the airline thingy is such a bummer. With jetlag and everything I'm sure it only adds to the frustration! But you're so close to your little sweetie! Hang in there. Praying for you and excited to see pics of your precious girl. God be with you!
Comments: Denise - YOU ARE THERE! So sorry the trip was less than fun, but you are so much closer to sweet Maggie Mae! We are following, waiting, so excited. We are also lifting your in prayer. Blessings to you and Kristy (and your wonderful boys at home) Heather
Comments: Denise, So thankful you are IN CHINA!!! So sorry about all the travel delays. CANNOT WAIT to see Maggie Mae in your arms! Hoping your luggage arrives SOON! If not, some SHOPPING is in order! OOOHHHH, cannot wait for gotcha day. OK, off to the other blogs. ENJOY the anticipation. It won't be long now. Praying for you continually! Leslie
Comments: Denise...your mom told me a bit about this adoption. Your mom and I go way back to college days and being room mates our first year of teaching. I know how she loves you and your family and I know how happy she is to be near you now. This will be such a blessed homecoming for you and your daughter. Joy to you all and God bless, Lee...sotpoG!!!
Comments: Oh Denise! I'm so sorry about your travel difficulties and lost luggage! I hope it gets to you in Chengdu! I know you can't wait to get Maggie, but having a little bit of time to get settled in the hotel first will be great. We had a 1/2 in Guangzhou before meeting Lily and while my nerves were abuzz, it was great to get unpacked and be able to walk around and unwind before going to Civil Affairs. I can't believe it snowed in Beijing! We thought it was cold when we were there! Good luck with your travel and your bags and I can't wait to read about Maggie! Rachel
Comments: Oh Denise! I was praying for you, and we will have to compare notes when you get home. As a friend told me, better to have those problems BEFORE getting your child than have them on the way home. We managed to keep our luggage with us, but our total travel time was somewhere around 45 hours....I broke down at the Air China gate when they wouldn't let us board the plane due to the wrong KIND of ticket was issued even though they showed us confirmed on the plane. ARgh. It worked out in the end, and we have a funny airline horror story to tell everyone. So glad you are there!!!!!! Sad to hear you won't meet Maggie until Monday though, that must be tough.
Comments: Oh my goodness! Hang in there...it's almost Maggie Day! Hopefully your luggage finds you. I am getting so excited to see that little girl in your arms. Hugs from across the ocean, Anna
Comments: I know this doesn't help any, but you will not remember any of the snags once Maggie is in your arms. Praying for continued safe travel and a wonderful Maggie day!!
Comments: Hi Denise, I have been checking and checking and now I am so sorry to see all the fiasco that took place getting there and the lost luggage...I am glad you are there safe and sound, though. I hope you are having as much fun as possible and getting rested up for meeting Maggie. I am sorry it is not on Sunday but I believe God knew you needed a few more hours to destress from the long trip. He is watching out for all of you. I don't mean to sound cliche' saying that. I truly believe it. I have butterflies of excitement knowing the joy you are about to experience!!! Many blessings, Lisa
Comments: I am so glad you got there safe! That's the most important thing - you're there!! Can't wait until Maggie Day!!!
Comments: Wish I could edit that last post I did....where did that blue guy come from!?!
Comments: Hi Denise! I've been checking this site and was so glad to finally see a post! So happy to see that you made it safely! Sorry to hear about the luggage. I'll be praying that it gets to you before Maggie does! If it doesn't...all Maggie really needs from you is love and hugs and kisses...which I'm SURE you'll have plenty of!! I'm SO super excited for you! Can't wait to see the pictures of you and her!! PRAYING for you! Blessings! Jenn
Comments: Denise, I am so glad to hear that you are safe and sound. I am so sorry about the delays. I know when you are this close, any delay probably feels like a lifetime. I am praying that your luggage shows up very soon and that the transition for Maggie goes well. Get some rest. Monday cannot come soon enough! Kim
Comments: Hi Denise! We made it home safely yesterday and are glad to be home! I unfortunately did not sleep at all on the plane home and was up at 1am this morning and I am still up. Everyone else is still sleeping! Love and Blessings, Tina
Comments: Hi Girls! Me again... I just saw that Joe posted your new entry! Love the new coats!!!!! Sorry about the weather!!! Oh, well it sounds like you are already having fun with the girls!! I wish I was there again with you!!! OK - Praying specifically for a luggage miracle! Blessings, Diana
Comments: Glad to hear you're finally there safely!!!!!!! Your luggage will catch up with you eventually. Thank you Kristy for being there for Denise when she needed you. Mitch blows you kisses and sends his love. Love you, Mom
Comments: Hi Denise & Kristy! I am so sorry about the luggage, but I am so glad to see that you have your sites on Maggie! Thankfully, you have your camera!!!! The best news is you are there! And, it is already the Saturday eve before you have precious Maggie Mae. I can't wait to see her with you finally! I will be praying specifically for a smoot transition for her. I know she will love you and trust you within no time! Enjoy your very special day tomorrow! Blessings, Diana
Comments: Denise, Praise God you are there safely. I have been checking frequently, for a post. Terry just called to tell me there was a post and I have called your mom. Luggage, is a small thing, I will pray it finds you soon (we have been that route before Susan called this morning during her prayer time. All is well at home, Gabe came over yesterday, he knew L.F. was coming. Hugs, to you, Maggie and Christy. Lucy

Comments: Mitch says he misses you and hopes you get Maggie soon. Hope you were able to sleep some on your flight. Talked to Lucy today too and she sends her love. Mitch is keeping me company tonight. Love to you and Kristy and Maggie too!
Comments: Hi Denise! Just saw Mitchell walking to your mom's and he filled me in on the details I had already somewhat put together as a blog stalker of everyone you listed in your travel group... hopefully the delay arriving in China is the only bump in the road! Our dossier arrived in China the same day you did but left a day earlier if that makes you feel any better! Take care, Kate
Comments: Hi Denise, I miss you! I have popped over here and your other site a dozen times today although I know you are probably sleeping in Beijing! i just want to know that you are there and you are good. Enjoy today although I know you just cannot wait until you are with sweet Maggie. Well, we cannot wait either. I am praying for you and thinking of you constantly. Yippee only one more sleep for you until Maggie Day!!! love, Kim
Comments: We miss you already! Jeff's keeping me posted. Hope the rest of your trip goes smoothly. Everyone's calling me--Pat, Gay and Jessie all sent their love. Love Mom
Comments: Hi, Denise and Kristy!!! I hope your trip to China was smooth and uneventful! I pray you will adjust quickly to the time change, the food, and your new surroundings. I know Denise can't wait for Sunday, but until then, I hope you both have fun sight-seeing and shopping. (Oh, my, I just realized how dangerous it might be for the two of you to be shopping together in China, finding better deals than you'd ever find at Kohls or Target! Try to exercise your spirit of self-control!) Anyway, looking forward to seeing photos and praying many times daily for the two of you and Maggie. Denise, I've seen Jeff out in the yard playing basketball and catch with the boys several times over the past 2 days. They seem to be having a blast! No worries! Love you gals! Terry
Comments: I am so excited for you! I can't believe you are there. I keep checking your site to get an update, but I know it's too soon. I am praying for you and Maggie Mae. Only a couple more days and she'll be in your arms!! Jennifer
Comments: Denise and Jeff, What a wonderful blessing for you, to finally be close to the day when you finally see Maggie in person. She is a very fortunate little girl to have you as her new family. The two of you and your 4 boys are such a wonderful Godly family. Just to know that God had this planned for her, and for you from before she was born. We are praying for health and safety, and travel mercies. God bless,
Comments: Hi Denise, Been wondering how your trip went yesterday. I remember being so tired but I was too anxious to sleep much of it, read, or even watch the in-flight movies... I hope you made it safely and are already having fun in China. Soak up as much as you can! It doesn't necessarily feel that important at the time but it feels important when you get home. (Hard to explain...) I'll keep checking for updates... All the best, Lisa
Comments: Denise and family, We are sharing in your joy as we remember you in prayer. God IS so good! Maggie Mae, you are a beautiful blessing! We can't wait to see what perfect plan the Lord has in store for your family. In Christ, Melissa
Comments: Denise, I've thought about you all day, wondering how your flights were going and how you were doing in general. We are all anxious to see pictures and hear wonderful stories over the next few days!! God bless! Laurie

Comments: our adoption blog is http://www.bringingzoehome.blogspot.com
Comments: hello I read on your blog that you were nervous about Maggie being moved from her foster care back to the SWI. I wanted to share with you that my daughter was moved the month before I picked her up from the fostercare center that she had been at for 16 mos to her SWI. The transition to the swi was not good. I was told to bring pull ups as she had many accidents. Well I rec'd a girl who did not grieve for the swi folks, just a cry until the doors shut then she was happy as can be. I believe that she did her major grieving before I arrived and did not have time to attach . She has been a blessing and a dream since day one. Maggie is a beautiful child .
Comments: Denise- ahhh, the day is finally here- you begin the long journey to get Maggie! I am thrilled for you and for your family! I am praying for all the challenges to be smoothed by the hand of our Mighty God, who brings families together in His perfect will! Thank you for blessing us with updates as we are walking with you on this journey! We will keep watching for details! Robin
Comments: Dear family, I found your site through the 'peanuts' blog. Today I came on your site and was ecstatic to find out that your baby is from the same place our daughter, (now 5) came from. Our baby Shu Shu was from Nanchong SWI #2, in foster care. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Chengdu. Chengdu is wonderful! You will really enjoy it. There is a fabulous shopping mall nearby the hotel where you can buy unusual baby shoes, the entire mall is quite an experience, be sure to check out the 'interesting' food found in the bottom floor! (if it's still the same as I remember) Also, visit the Panda Reserve if possible. Have a fabulous trip to your daughter. Congratulations and I look forward to seeing your family united with your beautiful daughter! (Most of the babies in our travel group came to us on 'Gotcha Day' with the red dot!) Have a safe journey...Renee http://www.daughtersfromafar.blogspot.com
Comments: Hey Jeff, Denise and boys, All I can say is Maggie Mae couldn't have asked for a better family to call her own. God is so wonderful. I pray for a safe homecoming for Denise, Kristy and Maggie Mae. I pray that your transition with your new family will be as easy as possible. I know God is watching over you and will take care of your every need. I can't wait to see all the pictures. Best of Luck and take care! Laurie

Comments: Denise and your wonderful family - I can't imagine what you all are feeling today. The excitement of getting to meet your daughter for the first time, the sadness of leaving Jeff and the boys at home and the joy that God our father has provided for you all throughout this time and journey. Life is good, isn't it. I pray that you and Kristy will have a safe, pleasant and healthy trip, that Maggie Mae will open her heart as quickly as you all have and that Jeff and the boys will get thru the separation as easily as possible. God speed and God bless.

Comments: Dear Denise, I am very excited to be able to accompany you on your journey to Maggie Mae. I hope the comments you receive will give you an extra measure of love and support during your trip. There will be times when you will need it... "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil. 4: 6,7 More than ever I hope you'll feel that peace! Comments: Denise--I knew there was something special about you and your family the day I met you in our July 07 LID'rs group. You caught me attention with all the same milestone dates (DTC,LID and we even shared the same brown envelope date). As I have gotten to know you through the last 8 months I have come to adore you and your family. You truly are blessed and Maggie Mae is so truly blessed to have such a beautiful mom--inside and out. I am sad we won't share other dates--but truly I am overwhelmed with joy for you, that you will be united with your daughter soon. And as I've said before--your union with Maggie Mae is a huge bright spot for all of us that know you. I can only imagine the anticipation, the excitement, the nerves and the peace that fills your heart right now. I will watch closely as you navigate the last length of your red thread journey to your daughter, Maggie Mae. A blessing for all of us. I can hardly wait to get to know her. All my love--Lisa

I am in continuous prayer for you as you guys have always been for me and my boys. I love you, Kristy
Comments: Hi Denise! I am Diana, Kim's friend! I can't sleep and I thought I would catch up on my favorite adoption site. Joe and Jen journaled our trip to Ruby Mei. They did such a fabulous job! You will love the ease and quality of their work while you continue to wait, and especialy while you are in China! Maggie Mae is just precious, and I know that you will have her soon. Today at Bible Study we were talking about Trusting God! I took this note during our lecture, "Trusting God in the storms, keeps us a-float!" There is such truth in that! I look forward to following your final journey to precious Maggie Mae here! Until then, blessings while you trust in Him! -Diana (Journey to Mei Mei, Ruby Mei) Minneapolis, MN
Comments: Your daughter is beautiful, and I love the name Maggie May. Just wanted to share with you that our daughter Jia-Li was also pictured with her "lucky dot" When we got Jia a year ago she was insistent on having me draw her lucky dot on for her and then make a big fuss over her. She still remembers the dot and occasionally (in English now) asks me to "dot" her and me! I happily comply with a red magic marker and tell her what a beautiful smart girl she is! I wish you all the best!
Comments: Oh your in for so much fun! I stumbled upon your website and was so happy to see your family. I am the mom of 4 bio boys, 18,16,13,11 and 2 yr. old Chinese princess. Our wish came true on August 28, 2006 when we were handed our daughter. All I can say is wonderful having a girl!! I am really excited for you! If you would like to see her you can check out our blog. http://www.babygirlbennett.blogspot.com I can't wait to see your updates when you have your daughter!!! Becky
