THE TRAVEL DAY THAT NEVER ENDS

Well, after 40+ hours of travel, we finally made it! I wish that I could say the same for our luggage! I can't believe that I have been packing since December and I may have to go out and buy everything for Maggie here. The airline "thinks" that we may have it by this afternoon, but you know how that goes. As this point I just want to get Maggie...nothing else matters.

Here are some travel tidbits from the past 2 days. I was constantly reminding myself to be flexible and have a sense of humor. (Carla, this is what I gained from your experience and advice). Kristy has been a trooper and I am so thankful to have her with me.

Kristy and I in the first airport,
totally unaware of what was in store for us.
~Thursday we left home for the airport and were disappointed to have a delay out of our airport. This made us miss our connecting flight to China in Chicago and I was in tears at the ticket counter. The poor man at the counter didn't know what to do with me. I couldn't speak through my tears, and Kristy hugged me and told the man, "She has a baby waiting for her in China."

~So we were put on a flight to LA where we had an 8 hour layover. We were able to hook up with another agency family who had also missed their flight. (They have their luggage...sniff, sniff).

~The 13 hour flight wasn't too bad, but we were sure ready for it to end! We met a lot of nice people and everyone who asked us why we we were going to China was so excited for us. Having said that, I am still surprised about how many people are unaware of why so many of these children need homes. Opportunities galore to share the miracle of adoption with them!

~Since we were delayed, I am not sure of how much sightseeing we will get done here in Bejiing. Hopefully I can get another post in before we leave to get Maggie tomorrow.

*Please continue to lift us up in your prayers.
