GOTCHA DAY!
My heart greatly
rejoices and with song I shall praise Him! Psalm 28:7
What a day!
We were up very early and headed to the orphanage with our guide
Jack. Originally we were supposed to go to the civil affairs
office, but they granted my request to go to to the orphanage to
get her.
As soon as we arrived, we were led to a conference room where
another family was meeting their little boy. We found out that
we live about 40 minutes from each other...wow! We
made plans to contact each other once we are home.
Then everything started happening so fast. They brought me in a
photo album of her time there. Having those pictures means so
much.
All of a sudden, they bring in Maggie and she is adorable, but
obviously not happy. When placed on my lap, she immediately
started to cry, but the nanny gave her candy and she stopped.
The nannies kept
telling her to look at Mama and she turned me and said Mama...I
was mush.
We then went on a tour of the orphanage and were able to see
where she slept and played. We were also able to see some of the
other children. We were not allowed to take pictures or ask
about them, but they were all so cute! Kristy was ready to take
one home...don't worry Robbie.
After paperwork and a look at the playground our guide took us
to get formula and some other supplies and we headed back to the
hotel. Guess what we found? Our luggage...oh, happy day!! A
wonderful day had
just gotten even better.
She is very sad and obviously grieving. It is heartbreaking, but
I know it is very normal. We will just keep loving on her and
she will come around.
I can not believe the immediate connection I felt for this
child. Adoption is a truly a miracle and I thank God for the
opportunity to be a mother to this precious little girl.
She is asleep now and without the red dot.
Please pray for Maggie as everything she has known is gone, and
for us, that we are patient with letting her get to know us.
*I have to end by apologizing for my spelling on the last
post...wow, I must have been really tired. |

Here she is!

Not happy with any of this.

Calling me Mama!

She falls asleep in my arms. |
