As mothers, we often must choose to sacrifice our own comfort and happiness for the sake of our child's. I know it was terribly hard for you and Sophie saying goodbye to her nanny, but it was probably a very important closure for Sophie. And although, Sophie's nanny has been like a mother to her these past two years, the picture of the true mother from this account was you, Stefanie. Happy Mother's Day! Hey Stef!!! Just wanted you to know that Sweet Isabelle was on the APC homepage while you've been gone. People wanted to know who the stunning beauty was, so I told them a bit about her and said that her proud mommy was in China adopting the newest member of the family. I also said, since I think you would have, that she was a waiting child who required heart surgery and is now doing well. I also said that the Waiting Child program has blessed your familiy's life greatly. Such a stunning picture it was (where she's looking down and to the right, with her hair blowing onto her face). Glad things are going well in Guangzhou and enjoy the shopping!!! ~~~Melissa

Stephanie, I know you do not know me, but I live in Georgia and we are waiting for our daughter in China. We were LID 5/16/06 for a healthy baby girl. I have followed both of your daughter's journeys to China, as well as many other families. I have really been going back and forth about a special needs child and praying about it. I don't feel God is calling me to take on a child with serious issues, but I feel I could handle a child with minor special needs. Did you know immediately when you were considering adoption that you wanted a special needs child? How did you decide exactly what needs you would accept or what needs did you list? I would really appreciate if you would share with me any helpful information or just comments that you could give. I always enjoy reading about your beautiful girls and family! :)My email address is sims@wildblue.net and my name is Susan. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Just wanted to say congratulations!! And also, I could not believe my eyes when I looked at the first picture on your GOTCHA DAY page! You are my sister's twin!...identical! I sent your website address to her (she lives in Korea)and she herself could not believe the likeness!...WOW! I just had to tell you that! Again, congratulations! I enjoyed reading your website. My husband and I will be travelling to China in the next couple of months to adopt our daughter as well. We can't wait! http://ndarsenault2china.blogspot.com/

Hello. We are Debbie and Bill Rafferty from Pa. I was reading the adoption stories today and happened upon your site. We have 3 children,Billy(a 10 year old birth son), Emily,(5yrs. from Korea) and Mandy,(6 years from Guangdong Province,China). I was so happy to read that you have 2 little ones so close in age. They are truely gifts! We are in the middle of our wait for our second little one from China. Four children is probably enough for us.....we just could not resist another little one from China. Your children are beautiful! Good luck! Debbie Rafferty

Precious little girls. Oh how I'd love for all of us to get together soon. I just think it's so neat that our soon to be 3 year olds, Sophie, Kade and Isabelle are just 5 months apart, and our soon to be 8 year olds are 6 months apart. We need to get you all to Texas! Thanks for the wonderful updates, you're such a GREAT mom! Lots of Love from Texas, Brian, Denise, Noah & Kade
