THE CALL
|

On December 2, 2004, I was attending Bible
Study at Forest Hill Church. We had been studying
Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby. That day I learned
that if you feel God is calling you to something and you
keep saying no, eventually he will ask someone who will
say yes. That worried me. Greg and I had always felt like
God had placed adoption on our hearts but for one reason
or another we had never said yes. We had recently gone
through the book The Purpose Driven Life with our
church, Calvary. Every Sunday we would say the same thing:
We think God’s purpose for us is to adopt one of His
children. So, when I called Greg after my bible study
December 2nd I told him of my concern. He said
to me, “Do you know what I was going to give you for
Christmas this year?" He said, “I was going to give you a
card that said let’s go to China!” I knew after all these
years he was ready and so was I. We started the process
the very next day on December 3rd. The
confirmation that this was God’s plan for our family was
overwhelming. We have no doubt that God has a daughter for
us somewhere in China. |
