WE'RE HOME!
We started our day out at 4:00am to get ready for the long
journey back to Charlotte. We arrived at 6:50pm more than 24
hours later. Samantha did great on the flights.
We were greeted by
friends, family, welcome signs and balloons. It was an awesome
sight. I could have lived in that moment forever. It was so good
to see everyone and introduce them to Samantha. She was content
to stay in my arms and check it all out.
When we arrived
at home there was a huge banner hanging outside to welcome home
our newest family member. Thanks guys! We love it. Samantha came
in and started crawling around and playing with all her toys.
She also loved her crib.
We are slowly
adjusting back to Charlotte time. We are having fun introducing
Sam to so much she has never experienced before. She is still
not sure if she likes her new dogs. Cody came up and licked her
leg and she did not like it at all!
We just want to
thank everyone for their overwhelming support and excitement for
us throughout this process. We could not have done it without
you! Our adoption journey has come to an end and it is time to
move on to a normal family life with Samantha. This is not
however our journeys end as far as being involved in orphan’s
ministry. Greg and I are certain God has more plans for us in
this area. We will wait to see exactly what that is. There are
many great foundations already doing work in China and all we
would have to do is jump right in.
We will update
the sight once a month for the next several months. Check back
in to see how she is changing and growing. Thanks again for
following along. We are so happy to be home.
To God be all
the glory! |
