Here we are on the morning of our last day in China. It is 4 AM
here and we leave for the airport in 1 hour. We will travel from
Guangzhou to Tokyo, Tokyo to Detroit and finally from Detroit to
Springfield, Missouri. The flying and layover time will be about
24 hours and we should land in Springfield at 4:40 PM on
February 1st. So, if you are in the Springfield area, come on
down to the airport and give Becca a good old American welcome
home.
Angie and I want to take a few lines to thank everyone for their
love, prayers and support. Our coordinator Lina and our guides
Lee, Jane and Simon were so informative and hospitable during
our stay. We truly would have been lost without their guidance.
Thanks so much to Children's Hope International (CHI), our
adoption agency, for making the entire process a smooth and
enjoyable one. Thanks to Joe and Jennifer for being so efficient and creating
such a professional website. Thanks to the people of China for
being so warm to us and the Chinese government for allowing us
to adopt Becca. Thank you to all our family and friends as we
could feel your prayers protecting us with God's love. Thanks to
Cindy and Dennis Hughes for taking on the special task of being
Becca’s Godparents. Thanks to Vince for being such a good
brother that I already want to come back and get Becca a
sibling. Especially thank you to our parents for showing their
love and devotion to Angie and me and giving us the necessary
skills to be outstanding parents ourselves. And just thank you
to everyone - I don't want to miss anyone. But above all thank
you to God and the sacrifice that He made for us with His Son.
Well that about wraps up our Journey to Becca. We still have to
tell you what happens on the flight home and will do so briefly
in the We're Home section of this digital journal. We plan one
day to share this journal with Becca so if you've haven't signed
the guest book and wish to do so, now would be the time.
So for now, goodbye China and hello America!
