Our flight to China was only about
12 hours (whew) but of course we had to take an additional
flight to Beijing from Seoul so the whole trip took about 15
hours. We did not know what day it was when we got into Beijing
but it sure felt good to get to the hotel and sleep for the
night. We took off at 2:30 PM and landed in Beijing at 9:00 PM
the next day!
Mia and Kathy were fortunate enough to have been bumped from
their seats in Prestige Class and moved into First Class! We
checked on them from time to time and got a glimpse of how the
other half live. Andrea and I were stuck in coach with close to
no leg room and an angry Korean guy that nearly started a fight
with a guy who dropped his laptop bag out of the overhead bin.
I have to say that the food on Korean Airlines was worth the
cramped quarters. Even the food we got in coach was excellent
and the free wine and beer was nice too! We have included a
picture of Mia about to board knowing she is going to be in
First Class, and a shot of her in her First Class
accommodations. We have lots of photos to come so keep an eye on
the site for the next round. We will have shots of the Great
Wall and our outing in the Hutong (narrow alleys of Beijing)
tomorrow.

Both Mia and Kathy were bumped from
business class to First Class for the trip to China!
