We are finally in the last stretch of our trip. We are ANXIOUS to get home, but will miss having our beds made everyday, a breakfast buffet waiting for us first thing in the morning and being surrounded by nothing but adoptive families experiencing the same joys and struggles of figuring out our new little family members.

Our big outing of the day was to the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees where we went with our babies to visit the monks. They performed a ceremonial blessing for all the children as they get ready to leave their birth country and start their new lives. The temple is a world famous ancient Buddhist temple and is truly amazing. It was built in 537 in the Liang dynasty during the Southern dynasties (386-581). There is a nine story pagoda in the Temple which is the main attraction.

On a side note, we have been involved in an article for Marie Claire magazine. The article is focusing on the adoption phenomenon at the White Swan Hotel (where we are staying in Guangzhou). The White Swan is a beautiful 5 star hotel where the vast majority of American families stay during the last leg of the journey. The hotel is next to the American Embassy where all American adoptive families pass through to have their children sworn in as American citizens before they head home. The hotel is literally full of American families with Chinese babies. So we have been meeting them on several occasions to do photo shoots.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!!
