We hope everyone is doing well! Tonight's posting will be brief
since we are wiped out! But, we know that the pictures are all
anyone actually cares about anyway!
We have not talked much about Mia in our postings, but we would
like to say for the record that she has been unbelievable on
this trip! Despite the fact that there are no other young
children in our group and we do a lot of touring, she has been
super happy and easy going. She has her rare moments when she is
fed up with the trip or she is frustrated because she needs a
mommy fix and can't get one because Annabel is constantly in my
arms. We are so happy we brought her with us. Mimi and Popie
being at her beck and call has certainly helped.
Clearly one of our great fascinations with Annabel is her eating
habits. At the age of one, she eats all manner of table food and
very proficiently. In her determination to feed herself, she is
incredibly messy so we go through several outfits a day. We
collectively stare at her during meal time as she grabs noodles
with her little fist, shoves them in her mouth and slurps them
up. It is pure joy to witness.
Today we went to the wholesale pearl market and did some damage.
I learned a lot about the large variety in quality of pearls and
the prices were phenomenal. We will be heading to the wholesale
Jade market in a few days to unload more yuan. We ended the day
with a group dinner of dim sum (local Cantonese specialty) and
went on a boat cruise down the Pearl River. A really great day
from beginning to end!
Much love,
Andrea, Steve, Mia, Annabel, Mimi, Popie, Yippo and introducing
